Current stadium limitations:

The current stadium cannot be
amended to meet program
requirements in its current
location. Also, renovation will
only allow 5,000 additional
seats to be constructed.

Maximum site seat capacity is 25,000
ODUs campus is going to look great. I will be glad to see it when its all done. Happy our school is becoming even more legit. Now if we could just get back on track with the basketball program.

Class of 2011
I noticed they're turning the book store into a gym and cafe, which seems pretty cool for the students living over there. But I didn't see where they would put the new book store. I'm guessing at the new Webb Center?
Page 39 is very telling. Some very big parking garages down on the west side of campus adjacent all the athletics. A long with proposed service/drop off areas for the pedestrian/shuttle stuff on page 40. I like it.

Edit. I also like that Skateboarders is listed in the master plan. Hollar
4600 more beds on campus! That's fantastic and can't wait to see all the changes in place in years to come.

Yeah Harnage said that during one of the Master plan student forums.

Does anybody know what ASF means? I think its something to do with square footage.
Wow, I thought the bookstore was really nice...hadn't realized they are going to relocate it...

And not very old, either. Not a fan of tearing down new buildings.
Don't think they're tearing it down. More like just redoing the interior. I'm happy the bookstore is being transferred to the Webb. It centralizes the main food area and shopping for students in one location.
Back when I was a student, Webb was where the bookstore was located
Just got the plan to download, you're right Nakas, they are re-purposing the bookstore.

And to whoever asked about ASF, ASF is Actual Square Footage vs. GSF which is Gross Square Footage. ASF is what is useable space.

They are adding additional beds on that side of Hampton Blvd. and I think the plan is to make it into a dining hall for that portion of the campus. It makes sense to me.

Ahh ok thanks. That was me asking about ASF. Man, that new Webb Center is still gonna be pretty large. 162,000 ASF. I'm sure that will be the next phase of major construction on the campus once the new dining hall is finished. From what I hear, the dining hall would be finished around 2016, so the Webb will be starting sometime soon after that.

I can see ODU 10 years from now being huge in academics. Now all we need is to merge with EVMS.

Same. Although most of my books were bought at the store b 711.

When all these changes are in place and the campus plan is near completion I don't see how we couldn't. Those are some wonderful academic upgrades and cohesion of the campus.

Hopefully some politician will step foward and get the EVMS deal done for ODU. ODU+EVMS makes alot of sense.

Anyone remember buying books from the old guy who had a shop on Colley Avenue sort of near O'Sullivans? You'd walk in and there would be books stacked in piles everywhere! Not sure how he knew what book was where but his prices were cheap!
