Also found a news letter with some more information about the New Chemistry building and a small rendering. If anyone can find some renderings of the new building please share.
The education building will become a dorm, named Monarch Hall;

Erm... reading the article it seems like old education building will be renamed monarch hall, and construction is almost complete on the new dorm, called the Hugo A. Owens House.
The Old Education Building (aka Monarch Hall) is currently under renovation. The Card Center, Dinning Admin and a few other offices that are currently in Web Center will relocate to the Old Education Building, which will allow the renovation of Webb Center to start. The Old Education renovation is scheduled to be completed by March. The new dorm hasn't broken ground yet.

Renovation inside the Webb has already started. I posted pics of a (the only?) plan for the south side of the Webb. My guess they will have it open come start of next semester, from what I've seen inside they are moving rather quickly.

See the tid bit in the article about Monarch Hall?

"The second project, phase 1 of a chemistry building, will have four stories with 110,500 square feet of space. It will house instructional and research laboratories, a tutoring center and a replacement for the Pretlow Planetarium, which will include a 120-seat digital theater and 48-foot-diameter dome."

Multi-phase? Go big or go home... wow.

Do we know if they are changing the exterior of the webb center?

This phase of the Webb Center renovation is interior only.

Found some pictures of what could be the new webb center? not sure if they are still going with redeveloping webb or complete redo. Either way still interesting pictures.
Check out the bell tower over the seal. That looks fantastic.

There is something strangely unsettling about that Notre Dame photo
I really like that bell tower, gives a more traditional feel to campus
Construction update photos of the child study center taken yesterday.

Not a school project, not sure what is going on.

This plot across from Norva Plastics has been kinda gross for a while but it's being cleaned up. Pics are from 20DEC.

From the 2013 Master Plan.

Looks like the walkway design here reflects the redesign proposed in 2013, also includes the before mentioned tower. This apparently includes a 2nd water feature and removing the round stepped platform currently there.

New building North of Webb Center appears to still be a go. (Still Student Services?)

We can also see the new business building next to Constant Hall.

Finally we can see the new science building (phase I). Though previous understandings was that this building was going to be the new chemistry building. That has either changed or was incorrect due to the new information we have about the chemistry building going next to the baseball field.

Potentially, this could just be a design/model built back in 2013 to demonstrate the master plan, right?

Possibly. The "Webb" and the Student services building are shaped differently though. I understand that the master plan drawing could simply be crude drawings. I.e. The New Education building outline is pretty accurate in the master plan presentation to what was actually built. The new dining hall however is simply a box on the presentation. These images show an accurate rendering of the dining hall.

Looking at that awesome stadium just made me 03-puke
I got some feedback from somebody who was in the party that traveled to FAU to look at design recently, and they confirmed basically exactly what was in the article, and what everyone was thinking about the stadium.

Some quotes:

"$55M is $55M" Implying they have no options, the money is what it is and this is what can be built with it.

Paraphrasing: Forgoing construction until there is enough money in hand to do something nice is not an option due to safety issues at Foreman

On the renderings from Populous and why this final product is not in line with them: "Those companies like to make pretty pictures"

Nothing new here, but hearing it from the horse's mouth confirmed a lot of what has already been mentioned, and made the whole situation a lot easier to digest, for me. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place at this point, and there is really only one way forward.

That said, I still have issues with the way the entire thing was handled, with the vast over promising, the ridiculously long study, that in the end brought nothing to the table, and the poor communication about the reality of what they would be able to build.
