It is a blow, but fortunately WSU employs among the best coaches in all basketball.

here's what's ironic about your post

you are basing your entire point on me posting on nothing but what 'i think'

there is NO way anyone would know that larry brown didnt want nic moore without actually being in the coaches room....their is no way youd know that larry wasnt encouraging or not encouraging him to come...

everything you stated was based around assumption of what "you think" w little actual knowledge of what actually conspired

well, let's start with the fact that Jank is the one who recruited Nic to ISU and then brought him along.

Also, yeah, when we know coaches, and communicate with them regularly, we do actually know what's going on in the coach's room.

no one is denying he was janks recruit...we were debating that larry brown didnt want him

i can post a ridiculous amount of quotes from bronw praising moore...he was lobbying like a mad man for moore to get post season awards

and who cares if you talk to the coaches..the coaches will never tell fans or donors that they dont like their players... even if they didint...that why i said " be in the coaches room" not post talks about what conspired...

Pesik, just stop, you are in over your head with this.

is stark on the staff???
the "we as fans really knw:" argument is avery weak one
just looking a gaurd offers..there were numerous short guard offers in the smu tenure

brown was just throwing out offers to kids he didnt want to get?????

pony fans: larry brown would laugh at getting short PGs (opinion)
me: your best player under brown was 5'9 (fact)
pony fans: larry brown never wanted him, i know (unproveable statement)
me: smu have offered numerous short guards (fact)
pony fans: we are right, you are in over your head (provided nothing solid)

last point he said brown wanted prototypical guards...Iverson, steve francis, stephon marbury larry bown is iconic for working with undersized guards..this too is a fact
The good news is that if Marshall doesn’t leave in the next 3 months we can finally stop the “Marshall is leaving” after/during every single year by other schools’ fans.
Final 247 Basketball Update didn't drop to many AAC players.

Memphis Commit Antwann Jones dropped 6 spots to 115- 4-Star
Memphis Commit Tyler Harris got raised 24 spots- a 4-Star and 119.
Cincy Commit Logan Johnson only fell 4 spots and is 134- 4-Star
SMU Commit Feron Hunt got raised 7 spots to 135- 4-Star
Memphis Commit Alex Lomax got raised 23 spots to 152- 3-star
WSU Commit Morris Udeze did get dropped 17 spots to 154- 3-star

The only two possible solutions I can think of with Reeves is that he is either A Homesick, or B chasing P5 glory.

My guess is the latter, but I selfishly hope its the former.

Reeves is the one who threw the pass that Galen Robinson stole at the end of the seminfinal game with Houston. Reeves is the one Rob Gray outhustled for that long inbounds pass.

After the game, Marshall threw Reeves under the bus. Not surprising that he’s leaving.

I don't remember him doing that... Care to explain?
(04-19-2018 08:25 AM)cscottl1981 Wrote: [ -> ]Doglando made the comment that it would be in our best interest to redshirt Lomax and Harris. I guess he thinks both will grow 4 or 5 inches over the next year and that we should roll with just 2 guards all next season (Jones may play the 2 some, but I would expect him to play the 3 more)?

Then we get examples of where some guy reshirted at UVA. Go ahead and provide me the percentage of 4* recruits that redshirt in all of college basketball. After that maybe collect the list of 4* guys that have redshirted (non injury related) in the AAC. I’ll wait.

Quote:I wouldn’t try to tell you I know more about your team than you do. When you don’t have all of the details, you end up sounding ridiculous. To the point that we’re digging up examples where a kid redshirted a UVA once upon a time. So maybe at UNC you have a 4* guy that is willing to ride the pine or redshirt, but most kids want to play now. Tyler wants to play. He wouldn’t be coming to Memphis to redshirt nor do I believe he would have gone anywhere else that asked him to do that. If you want to act like an expert, you should at least do your homework.

wow guy there's so much wrong with this i dont even know where to begin. was gonna let it go but you mentioned me by name so here we go.

1) never said redshirt lomax and harris. not once. In fact i specially mention a couple times i see ample minutes for one of them.
2) "we should roll with 2 guards next year" find me where i said this. I fully expect penny to add another guard or 2 in '19. and as you said jones plays some 2. maybe jayden even cracks the lineup a bit.
3) i bring up the uva example not to compare situations but because you said "Players like Lomax and Harris aren’t getting redshirted". Clearly insinuating you think 4 stars never get redshirted. I proved that to be false.
4) i know tyler wants to play, I know alo want to play, I know penny wants both to play. That is why i have said for the 3rd or 4th time now that neither will redshirt. thank you for clearing that up guy.
5)Not trying to tell anyone what to do with their team for a second. you are on an aac basketball discussion thread. in the offseason no less. roster discussion is what takes place

It's extremely clear you are an expert at taking statements out of context or outright falsifying them to make yourself look better. I have no desire to have a back and forth with such a poster. that is why i have refrained until you brought my name into this

Our top 4 scorers return. Only 3 players had a positive rating on the team(Davenport +13.1, Martin +13.3, and Mike Parks +1.4)....they all return.

Im assuming you were talking about Jamal Johnson as our 2nd best player. Which is wrong and not supported by any statistical measure.

lets not confuse pt/per with talent..i said most talented...
lets not confuse freshmen year stats with talent potential...

ie fabian white at houston, he had 5pt per for us as a freshmen last year...most people believe he was one of the most talented players on our roster..most predict he will be all aac by his junior year

or galen robinson pg, he will never produce points. 4pts per, his stat sheet looks abysmal, but samspon/anyone who follows houston always state he is one of our best players

There is no rational way anyone could say that Jamal Johnson was more talented than Kyvon Davenport or Jeremiah Martin. You are just making **** up.

i said "second most"...clearly referencing that id put jeremiah martin 1st..you seem to be the one making things up

davenport was an unranked juco had offers from usf, florda a&m, tennesse tech, FGcu and memphis
Jamal Johnson was a top 150 4star with over 20 high major offers

you are comparing the stats of a freshmen to the stats of a junior in deciding which is more talented..that is flawed
Larry Micheaux had drastically more points than hakeem olajuwon on hakeem freshmen year, i guess he had more talent than him?? by your wise logic?

i didnt say who scored more... i said second most talented

Pesik, if you had watched all our games last season like many Memphis fans did, you would realize that Johnson didn't play up to his recruit ranking, at all.

Martin is better. Brewton beat out JJ for PG when Martin got hurt. Davenport is clearly better. Parks became more valuable than JJ when conference play started. Even Thornton shot a better % from 3 than did JJ, which was supposed to be his specialty. Hell, Jimario Rivers was more important to us than JJ.

So that makes JJ about 6th best last season. And we have six other guards (Martin, Brewton, Lomax, Harris, Jones, Hardaway) on our roster now, and all have already proven to be better or are ranked higher than JJ was. Hardaway is the exception, but JJ would be 6th in the rotation for 2 spots now.

Actually the you are both wrong. On that exact play, Gregg said that McDuffie didn't set the pick that he was supposed to which would have freed the inbounds play.

And there it is. Sorry man, sometimes people have bad ideas. You are entitled to your opinion as crazy as it is. I wish we were Duke and could redshirt our 4 Star recruits, but that’s not where we are right now. We’re coming off 4 straight years of missing the tournament. We need talent on the court gaining valuable experience immediately.

Edit: Initially I thought you said we should redshirt “both” of them. So just 1 of them is slightly less insane. Still not gonna happen.

Because Marshall hates losing and recruiting and he’s going to do more of those two things over the next year than he will the rest of his life.
I do feel sort of sorry for the Wheat People. We really need WSU to be a power.

Speed bump ... there is a lot of talent coming in .. I just didn't expect them ALL to have to play major roles on day 1. The extra minutes next year will help in the years after.
