but 2020 is the real target.. sampson for the last 4 months has been heavily recruiting every big 2020 recruit he just got a twitter and follow almost only 2020 recruits ..
even Tyreek Smith he is a nice add and all...but his best friend is 5star guard 2020 rj hampton who is arguably the best guard prospect since kyrie...getting tyreek will pay huge dividends with him..

Mike Miller has been a very close mentor to Watford, which is why other schools like Florida tried to get into the Mike Miller AC sweepstakes 07-coffee3

I swear I'm not coming in here just to troll, I'm here because I like the AAC and enjoy keeping up with news. That said, the local rumors for Watford are that he goes to whichever blue blood drops a bag. If that doesn't happen then he's hoping Alabama drops a bag. If that doesn't happen then it's open waters.

As for Mike, you're not also planning on bringing in his brother are you? I remember him being the only competent person on Barbee's staff at Auburn. Although he may not be necessary given Penny's recruiting prowess.

If Watford requires a big payment, I think we would drop out, since we need to stay squeaky clean. Well, only dirtied by gray mud, at least. Certainly not FBI-worthy stuff.

I'm betting all the top guys who want to be paid, as usual, may have reality slap them in the face post-FBI. At least for awhile.

As for hiring Mike's brother, no, we're looking for an ex-D1 HC as the #1 Xs and Os assistant.
Memphis shorties be ballin.

Yeah, I started to say something derogatory about short people, then decided against it. 03-lmfao

Epic Mind Blown

I'm still praying for the Larry Brown ac position. I have a bet going on under three years till Memphis is NCAA sanctioned. Pretty sure my friend will just pay up if Brown is hired. Fingers crossed.

Tampering? LOL. Lomax LIVED with Penny for years. Penny could contact him all the time without violating ANY NCAA rule.

Harris was an uncommitted recruit until today.

Jayden Hardaway is Penny's son.

So where's the tampering?

Agreed, don't think Penny did any tampering ... the other side of that is Penny has only landed 1 recruit so far that hasn't lived with him. So it remains to be seen if that was just a single recruit or a trend ...

i dont think you are a troll..i just think you are easily fooled by board room rumors
he is legitimate considering a bunch of small schools....some that have no money like that
and the fact you think a recruit would ask for a bag in this atmosphere is absurd.

ps there is a rumor like theis for every 5star ever even if its true or not...

Lol so no big deal the guy you currently have as a coach spent his time telling local kids to not go to Memphis to sabotage the previous coach?

That wouldn't be a strong indicator of the ethics of the current coach? Who is trying desperately to hire a coach well known for his lack of ethics in college basketball? Who has no experience with compliance rules? And was very likely contacting recruits after he knew he would get the job and before his actual hiring. . .

this is just the beginning
It will be an interesting ride.

Next year will be really up in the air for the conference in basketball. This year we knew what to expect and got it barring the injuries. Lots of unknowns next year.

Good luck landing RJ Hampton. He is gonna go to Duke, UK, or KU. His dad (Rod whose a cool guy) played basketball at SMU and we have been recruiting RJ, since 8th grade and he is at a TON of SMU games. Him and Tyreek are buddies, but even if you land Tyreek (LSU is in a REAL good spot) from everything i've heard about RJ he wants to go to a blue blood. Wouldn't get too excited thinking about getting RJ. Have told SMU fans the same for past year or two.
