I’m hoping there’s a pretzel stand at The Steve.
Heck ya, with 18 toppings to chose from.
Turf is done fellas!

What a joke.

What traditions? "We are - Monarchs!" chant? Gone. 12th Monarch flag leading team onto the field? Gone. Monarch March? Gone. Crazy Train? All thats left. Unless he plans to put a giant statue of a roaring lion with a crown on its head outside the stadium for fans to take pics with and rub his paw for luck (which I would love to see), Wood saying no to the bell is just so short sighted.

Thought I read in the latest fan guide that the "Monarch March" was coming back? Occurring 2 hours before kickoff.
That would be great. I hope they bring back the metal
Sign with the hammers for students to make noise too.

Did it ever leave? Aside from weather, I think I've seen it every time I've been tailgating at the Silver Lot with a certain set of friends. Last time being VT, maybe later.

Cheerleaders, players, coaches. Maybe the drum line? I can't remember. Maybe the band stayed on the mall. Provided we're sober enough to remember, we always high-five the players just before they enter the stadium.
It definitely didn’t happen by mid season last year. Someone posted earlier that they stopped it because some people said some inappropriate things to the players. I don’t think I remember any marches last year tbh. Maybe they changed the route and stopped going by beige lot.

Maybe that's it. Our hosts told us they're dropped off by the red garage, walk through the mall and then we'd see them on the other side of red on the edge of the silver lot.

There isn't a lot of fanfare compared to some other (albeit bigger) schools where something similar is done, but ODU is good at missing the boat on the little things. :shrugs:

I too saw it at every game. The route likely changed.
Me and a buddy just got back from a stadium, brown lot tour. Just an absolute first class facility, light years from what we used to have. Walked onto the PNC deck through the second level of the parking garage as was suggested. Is that new? My friend seemed to think so. I think the press box looks very nice and saw people working inside. Also on the west stands in between the first and second level there is an area with windows (it kinda sits back), Is that the Priority Automotive Club? The hike from the brown lot to the stadium is a little bit. But a nice walk after the game to sober up. I am so looking forward to games at this new stadium.

It is not new. But it is a great place to watch a game.

It looks like the field is "crowned" for drainage purposes. Looks to me like the appearance of the lettering reflects the field elevations.
Sand and rubber has not settled yet. You can see it clearly on white portions of field. Is the installation crerw done or does this settle below the surface with time?
Video board is on today.
