I've lost track of what the next step is. At some point do we need to go back to the General Assembly for final approval on the finished plans to spend the money? If so, is it possible that they are working that before they release the final renderings to the public? Just looking for logical reasons why this is dragging out so much.

This is an even numbered year for the General Assembly and so it is considered a long session (e.g. 60 calendar days). The session began on January 10 and ends on March 10.
So a JMU guy says LaSalle May leave the A10. Maybe Wood is going to get us in there and go back to CAA football. Unlikely, but it would certainly affect stadium plans and cause delays if that were the case.
I would be shocked if we did that.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.
I'd start dancing in the street.

Im sure the school would take a massive hit and drop down to CAA.
Remember when we felt betrayed when ECU left C-USA? How will we feel if we drop FB to CAA, move to A10 and VCU and Richmond leave?
God no. The CAA isn't the end game.

I would be amazed if the A-10 wanted four Virginia schools. I might be wrong about that, but I don't think I am.

Agreed.

Where would they possibly go? The A10 and AAC are as good as it gets in the east outside the P5.

Perhaps, but we’d bring the largest market in VA outside of NoVa and we’d be one of their better teams from the start. Maybe GMU will leave since they can’t seem to hang in there. And four NC schools doesn’t hurt the ACC, it probably even helps.

UR to Big East and VCU to AAC. Not probable but still possible.

I’m not sure VCU would leave for the AAC. It’s as spread out as CUSA, football centric and not likely to expand until UConn, Cincy, Memphis, Houston leave. I’d wager ODU has as good a chance to join the SEC as UR to the Big East.

The Big East would be the stretch goal I would wager.
It might be spread out, but it's hard for me to think VCU wouldn't salivate at the opportunity to be in conference with UConn, Cincinnati, Memphis, and Wichita State.

Now as far as the AAC's eagerness to add VCU? Not seeing that one, but after WSU, anything's possible...

The thing is, UConn, Cincy and Memphis probably won't be there if/when they get asked. They would be a replacement team... just like we will be.
Harry tweeted pics of Libertys new stadium expansion today. It’s under construction already and looks good. I swear his kids must go there or something.
I sent Selig an email this morning asking for information. I'll probably get one of those generic "thanks for your interest" replies. We'll see.
