Is the Press Box going to be painted blue? Will there be any kind of sign on the part of the press box facing the field?

This was the rendering from April. It's stays the color you currently see it and there is some signage.

The press box exterior is constructed of pre-finished aluminum panels. They will not be painted. It looks good and matches the panels at the adjacent Game Day Building as well as the panels on the back side of the Priority Club. They are not meant to be painted. Painting would also be a maintenance issue.

Yes, I believe there is some signage scheduled for the field side of the press box.
Anyone know why they took away the Monarch branded graphic panels on the sides and between the towers? They looked so cool and hid the skeletal "erector set" support structure holding up the bleachers? That was one of my favorite parts of the stadium.
I look at the press boxes as temporary structures or easily ripped out and replaced in 10 years. It's a rectangle on stilts. The bulk of the money this round went into each sides bowl and infrastructure.

Ours is pretty unimaginative compared to the new ECU exterior, but it had to be with the tight budget. I'm glad they went light on the curb appeal on that particular part and put the money elsewhere.

Those are just made of a mesh and are not really a construction item, so they very well could still be added probably. I would bet those are very low on the priority list of things getting done before Aug 31st

They are still painting the steel and working in those areas so it would be too early to install. They may not plan to install them now, but if they still are, then they wouldn't go up yet.

They don't look that much tighter to me. I think there should still be room for the cannon. I hope. That and "Crazy Train" are our only football traditions at this point. I miss the 12th Monarchs and the Monarch March.

The sidelines are much tighter but I went to the afternoon of Nov 17th (last gameday) and the actual footprint of the howitzer is much smaller than I imagined. However, the barrier separating the field no longer is far from the stands, and I doubt we would be firing the canon directly in front of fan's faces. Or at least I don't think we would.

Maybe we would have it off the turf?
The bricks are in;

Say what you will about the look of the box; I've been told by the most reliable source possible that the box is ultra state of the art to work in and outstrips the facilities at VT and UVa. … All in all, stadium looks beautiful and will only get better with age.

They cleaned up the ones at the South Endzone today. I would expect they do the same for the North Endzone when they work that end of the field.
It also looks like they have already damaged the fence by the loading dock 04-jawdrop 03-banghead
Bluestone got paved today. Place is looking great.

Happens when you put them up mid work-cycle and i am sure these kind of misc damages are part of a typical build process. I am so excited to see how the place looks in person. My family will be really surprised seeing how much it transformed from their last visit 02-13-banana02-13-banana
I did not realize how close the stadium is to Bluestone. I don't think there will be much room at all for food vendors or ports potties.

My buddy is the GM at Flamingo Joe's. He told me that they wanted to do the tents they've had every season and were told no. They'll still have walking vendors but that's it.
I thought part of idea of a new stadium was to get rid of port-a-potties! You nostalgic for them?

Personally, I'd do anything to avoid those monstrosities in Sept and even early October. I really hated the idea of being forced to use a 'prison of war punishment hole', but hey to each his own!

LOL. There shouldn't be a need for them anymore. I remembering seeing somewhere that there will be 80+ toilets available for men and 140+ for women. Unless drinks start pouring from sky on every adult in the stadium we should be fine. 03-lmfao
