I judge what we have in today's stadium based on what we used to have. I was in W-216 and had no problem exiting down those narrow stairs. If I need to use the bathroom I go down to the bottom level and use it. If there are people in line I wait. We have many more bathrooms and concessions. A lot of people were using them because they were so hyped. As everyone gets to know the new facility, little kinks will be ironed out. As far as I'm concerned, what I saw Saturday night from a program only 10 years old was pretty damn good.

With you. Now I know why the Va Pilot shut down the comment section.

I can see past all the long lines, etc., however, can we get WiFi in the stadium? I would like to be able to look up scores and stats while watching the game. I don't know about anyone else, but my Verizon cell phone gets NO service within the stands. Does anyone else have this issue?

I enjoy reading everyone's posts.

Welcome to the jolliest bunch of ******** this side of the nuthouse!

We had nothing with Sprint, either, nor any wifi. Hopefully that's on the list. On the bright side, all those scores and stats are supposed to be on the video board once they have a chance to shake the bugs out.

My buddy has Verizon and also couldn't get a signal in the new digs, but he had no issues in the old stadium.
I have AT&T and had no issues with my signal.

No issues with T-mobile either. T-mobile signal is strong.

I have Verizon and had a signal off and on. But, I was under the second deck overhang and felt like all the steel could be playing with my signal. Maybe not???

Yes, I’ve had the same issue for years.

Edit: Verizon

There was supposed to be WiFi available. A couple of times i got the
AccessODU choice for WiFi. At the TED that comes up but you have to have a password to use it (students and faculty have them). Saturday AccessODU was available. It ask if you want to register. I did and got the temp password. For one fleeting minute I latched onto the WiFi signal. Never could access it again.

I have lots of complaints but will say the quality of watching the actual game was top notch. What was way beneath what Wood, Harry and others hyped was just subpar. Wood especially kept repeating Quality over Quantity.

I just can't believe they couldn't put at least some handicap bathrooms on the concourse. Or if they couldn't do that they needed to put another elevator in. I left my seat a minute or two before the half ended. I waited for 6-8 elevator comings and goings before I got on. I got back from that bathroom trip a minute or two into the second half.

If I wasn't using the walker due to a knee awaiting replacement I would have walked down the stairs. There were a couple of people in the elevator line they may not have looked "elevator-needing" but not enough to make a huge difference. They sure didn't look at their fan base before the bathroom placement decision. Couldn't they have put bathrooms above the ground level bathrooms to speed up the plumbing? Or just let Norfolk State have that as a home game if time caused this decision. Would another three weeks have gotten some toilets on the concourse?
ODU Wifi was available. But even inside the stadium only 2 bars. This isn't due to traffic, but the signal connection inside the stadium. Maybe only some section got good reception? Where is the closest antenna located? Does anyone know?

Looking at the comments above looks like Verizon having big problems.

Not sure how the obstructed scoreboard view can be fixed, though. Upper half of 104 can't see the bottom right of the screen. Maybe one of you tech savvy types can offer advice on how to raise the video board 20 feet or so without breaking the bank.
We ran through some of the same issues the first couple of weeks when we opened GSUS.

It’s probably pretty typical for any new stadium, let alone one with a very compressed construction timeline.

BTW, congratulations on the Panthers big win over the Vols!

Great first post and yes Verizon no or limited service

My man
With all the hype leading up to the stadium with interviews, videos, and TV specials, I think out level of criticism is amplified compared to what it would have been if there wasn't as much media coverage. I don't fault anyone on this board who wants to express their displeasure with opening night. We all know that it was a tight time frame and that the admin needs time to work the kinks out. This is just a way for us to express our feeling with a group of like minded individuals. I am only assuming, but I would guess that most of the people on this board donate at some level to ODAF and most on this board have invested for multiple years in ODU season tickets. I would also say that most of us would label ourselves as diehard fans. When you become invested into something, especially the new stadium, you naturally set the bar high. I think we have all done that and have every right to think this way. We can only hope that the admin makes steady improvements over the next year and if one or two folk who are connected in the admin see our complaints, maybe it might expedite the correction. We can only hope!

Nextdoor is one of the best things that has ever happened for my entertainment. It is incredible the things people will get fired up about. Right now there is a thread about 60 posts deep about two people blowing leaves into each other's yards. Solid gold.
Well Harry confirmed they’re trying to bring the Howitzer back but they’re having trouble finding a spot for it. Where do y’all think it should go?

Looked like the same spot was open !!
Since us on the west side have a full view of the jumbo screen why not put it on the opposite side of the NEZ corner pointing towards the east side, there is a grassy area there that would work. For us on the west, we could still hear it and see it on the jumbo screen.

If nothing else works put it on top of the parking garage 02-13-banana

After looking are aerials views the grassy area between west and nez sucks but hey it beats having it outside the stadium like VT or a little bitty one like ECU.

Since they only fire it off 2 to 3 times during gameday they could just wheel it on and off the field. Or downgrade to this jeep and have it drive out the tunnel and stop at the visitor's bench and fire one off.

Last night ESPN had a special on the culture of college football. ODU is lacking!
