I don't hate it. Just hope they stick with the lion for most things. I also hope they put the lion and shield graphics back up on the stadium behind the press box facing outside. But yeah, the stadium logo isnt bad.
Definitely looks like a soccer logo... and I am not a fan.
I appreciate something new that brings in a new look while integrating a classic aspect with the arches. Think it's really well done.

Those of you who don't like it, should make you feel better that it wasn't exactly prominent in the message. I completely overlooked it until drunkard posted

I don't mind it. I can't stand the Name @ Place stuff. Just hyphen the two last names and change the sign.

Would have been cooler if they used the shape on the ODU seal. Then it would have told me that somebody is thinking.

03-thumbsup
Looks like the old Turf is being rolled up and put away. Any of you suckers in W212? I used to be in 103 and last season inspired by Smitty's Eastern campaign i tried it out and switched to 116 and hated the direct sun so switched back to west side and IMO the best side.

W212 here. Forget which rows.
W212 also!
Cool. Hopefully we get to scream together. 04-cheers

P.S. Crossing fingers hoping that drunk ass dude and lady doesn't end up anywhere close to us. What an embarrassment they were at ECU and in Blacksburg. They might be good fans but getting into pissing contests with opposing fans and young students comeon.
Took my wife to an appointment at EVMS today, and while she was there I drove down to the campus to take a look at the stadium. You can get a good view from the top of the parking garage. Looks like the press box is coming along nicely. Unless I missed some, none of the chairback seats have been installed in the west side second level. I suspect that is due to the scafolding for the pressbox.

Gotta tell ya, that entrance/exterior on the west side is impressive looking. Just plain blew me away.

I know there must be a lot of interior work yet to be done, but at this point I have absolutely no doubt it willl be finished in time for our first game.

Yeah and doing the interior work in parallel to seat installation, turf and scoreboard installation makes sense.
The last few days as they have taken the scaffold down around the press box I've been checking out my seats between noon and 6pm to see how much sun I'll be dealing with. Any kickoff after 1pm my ears won't get sunburn! COGS 04-rock

That's genius lol. I'll have to start checking that now too.

i know it's been awhile since this question was posed but I think i know why adding classrooms to the new stadium wasn't considered. i think it is because an academic building cannot have a corporate sponsor's name attached to it. so...state funds or corporate sponsor?!?
Our NEZ looks like an aluminum tsunami wave ready to hit our opponents.

I say leave it and spend the money on an indoor practice field that will benefit multiple sports and a new Football Operations Building with player amenities like pool tables and P5 style locker rooms.

Me and few others as well. Why can't we put a academic training facility or the likes underneath NEZ and build seating on the top of it and get funds from state? I just don't get why we aren't even considering that. Some from AD has to shed some light on it i guess.
Looks like East cameras are working again. When all is said and done with how amazing the rest of the stadium will look the NEZ will be an absolute eyesore. If somebody has 30 MM to spare please donate 03-drunk02-13-banana

JMU Convocation center received state funding and it now has a sponsor.

Sorry what i was wondering about is integrating academic facilities into the Athletic Facilities and using state funding for their construction rather than the naming rights and state funding issue. Not sure if JMU got their funding approved by having some academic space in that building or not but we should do that if we can and get the NEZ done ASAP. We might be able to shove some tutoring class rooms, Computer Lab and/or Admissions office underneath the NEZ and get funded by the state.
