Article says the second firing will be at the end of the first half. Wonder why? Seems to make more sense to fire it to announce the beginning of the second half. That is what they used to do.

Harry's article mentions he might be the one firing it on Saturday. Seems like a pretty cool thing each game to have a "dignitary/donor/donor prospect" fire the cannon. Ankerson can draw everyone's attention to it prior to firing- kind of a rah-rah thing. Seems easy enough....
For reference, those seats are for the Band right there. So depending on how it's all scheduled out, nobody could actually be sitting there at the moment of firing. If so, that's actually some really shrewd planning by the administration.

But the team doesn't run out during the light show, and the canon usually goes off when we come back on the field. I do like the idea of us ending the first half with a boom, in fact, we should end the game with a boom as well haha

I think the second firing of the howitzer should be just before the start of the fourth quarter.
I actually think that's a fantastic idea. Ironic that you bring this up now right before we play ECU, because I love how they fly the No Quarter Flag at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

You're probably right, this year they go out of that side to get back to their seats so setting it off while they're trying to walk by may not be the best idea lol
They could easily find a 4th Quarter tradition using that square shaped HD board they spent all that money on. Create and put something up there that shows Big Blue in cartoon or even a real lion waking up!
Creativity ain't that hard. Hell, ECU has been hyping their crowd for years just by pulling a flag chain!

Anyone know if the graphic lion head banners are in place yet? I think that's going to really take the look of the stadium to another level from the outside.

They were not up as of 5pm today.
Not Stadium related but, the house SB Ballard was using as the office for the stadium build on the corner of 49th and Bluestone was torn down over the last few days.
