wow another blown save for Jansen.
and one for Will Smith. All of a sudden 2 bad outings for him in the last 3 since the break. Definitely not what the Giants want either way of trying to contend or trying to rebuild.

A really bad one. And the Dbacks needed him to get the save
Not a good night for top NL West closers.

Jansen 3 er .1 ip
Smith 3 er 1 ip
Davis 3 er .1 ip

yikes 9 er in 1.2 ip.

Injured on comebacker. Should’ve left the game.
makes the need for a guy for the Dodgers pen that much more important IMO. They have to do close to whatever to get a great arm here. Saw someone mention a comparison to the Cubs in 2016 with Chapman.
Will the Giants ever lose another game? Probably, but maybe not. Do they have the best team of all time? No, but they're probably the best this season. I say trade for stroman and go for it.
This is about the perkiest swoosh has been on this board in a couple of years.

Actually I'm of two minds. On the one hand, I want reality to kick in so we can get our prospects and top 10 draft pick. On the other hand, I'm having a ton of fun. This stupid team with a bunch of random players is dominating. And it's not like they're playing the Marlins and Mets every night. The whole thing is so incredibly stupid, as to be hilarious. I don't normally stay up till after midnight watching a mediocre team, but I've stayed up late the last two nights to watch both games. Granted they've started at 8:40 on the east coast, but still.
I think the Giants get at least 28 more wins to get to 74. That would give Bochy 2000 wins.

37 wins, and Bochy cracks the all time top 10 in manager wins. That'd give the Giants 83. Might get them in the wild card round....

One thing for sure.... if the Giants somehow won the World Series, it would be 2 things- 1 the ultimate FU to the Dodgers, and then just as big- cementing the Giants as the unquestioned team of the '10s with 4 titles(with Boston only other team with even more than 1).
so it's funny. MLB has come up with a new award- the heart and hustle award.... Each team selects 1 guy...

For the Giants, it was the Panda.

Needless to say Red Sox fans were not too pleased....

At that point, the Dodgers players and FO would throw up their hands and walk away

What would be funny as anything would be if Madbum did well, Madbum things again, and so postseason he's viewed even more as one of the best ever.. Meanwhile, Kershaw bombs out again... Just crazy between those 2. Imagine if Kershaw had postseason chops like Madbum.

This is too painful for me to think about. Thankfully, I think you've now stever'd them, so I've got that going for me.
who knows, the last underdog I took just about was Kluber vs Sale 2 years ago, and we all know how THAT ended up :)

Passan has essentially guaranteed they'll be selling.
it would be really interesting if they were to sweep the Mets this weekend, and especially if they were to take the Wild Card lead.

Yeah, you essentially ended their careers.

We're winning again today (although Anderson has sucked). If we hold on and then take 3 of 4 from the Mets and 2 of 3 from the Cubs, things will get crazy. At that point we'd be 52-51 going into July 26th and a series against the Padres. They still need to be sellers, but things could get freaky really fast.
