Scherzer has struggled but has been nails minimizing the damage. Gutty performance!
how many times do you see long innings where you don't score and then the next half inning- the other team scores a lot. What we've seen tonight quite a bit.
I don’t understand this. Corbin in relief in game 1?
Pitches 20 pitches today and that still allows him to start Saturday I guess.

part of it is the forecast.... sounds like rain very likely on Saturday here. So game 4 a rainout. So Corbin could be in the pen here today, tomorrow, and even Friday. Then be set to start later in the series(but having Scherzer and Stras both in the pen later if necessary)…
Counting on a forecast seems risky, but this (Corbin in relief) has been working. It makes me nervous but let's see...

Even if it doesn't rain, he could still start in game 4 and then be in the pen for games 6 and 7. Or if they have a 2-0 lead and they have a shot for the kill shot in game 3, they could use him, and then use Joe #$!% Ross in game 4 with a 3-0 lead....
ok the nerves are back...
This is always going to be a thing if a Nats starter can't go deep into the game.
Winning game one is incredibly important, especially on the road. Nats need to pull out all the stops here. Short of Strasburg pitching anything goes.

yep... Doo for 4.

Not sure who would be next.... The ageless one, Fernando Rodney I guess 03-puke
...hold on to your ass...
Well done.
The announcers sounded stunned and disappointed that the Nats beat Cole and the Astros in Game 1.
Breathe in.....

Exhale.....

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Verlander now in fairly close to a must win tomorrow. Go down 0-2 with Greinke(who has struggled this postseason) and bullpen games in 3/4???
I'm sure Braves fans are like great, we got rid of Harper from the Nats- their window has closed. What, we have to deal with Soto now 5 years at least? Great.

What an incredible night for him last night.
so I still can't believe Houston's pitching staff with exactly 0 lefties..... first since 1903...

Brookes, didn't they have some lefties in 2017 vs you guys? Just thinking this year, your guys would have destroyed this....

Well, Astros had Keuchel but he didn’t give the Dodgers much trouble. ERA of 5.23 in 10.1 IP
