Is Ukwu our only 2022-2023 off season transfer so far, or are they only posting notable ones/starters who went FBS?

Only notable.
For reference here are our incoming transfers for this year in a similar format. Looking like we could be very good

1. QB Jordan McCloud (Arizona), 6’0 200 lbs - 2 years of eligibility

3. RB Ty Son Lawton (Stony Brook), 5’10 215 lbs - 1 year of eligibility
4. WR Phoenix Sproles (NDSU), 6’1 190 lbs - one year of eligibility
5. WR Omarion Dollison (USF), 5’9 185 lbs - 2 years of eligibility
6. WR Elijah Sarratt (St. Francis), 6’3 205 lbs - 3 years of eligibility
7. WR Taji Hudson (ECU), 6’4 205 lbs - 3 years of eligibility
8. TE Taylor Thompson (Charlotte), 6’3 220 lbs - 2 years of eligibility
9. TE Kyi Wright (Pitt), 6’3 265 lbs - 2 years of eligibility
10. OL Aaron Gunn (Louisville), 6’4 310 lbs - 3 years of eligibility
11. DL Immanuel Bush (Marshall), 6’1 210 lbs - 3 years of eligibility
12. DB Trevell Mullin (Indiana), 5’11 160 lbs - 4 years of eligibility
13. Ryan Hanson (Arkansas State), 6’2 220 lbs - 2 years of eligibility
To me- in evaluating a recruiting class before they step on a college field, the only thing that matters is who else offered the recruit. Good talent evaluators can find some under the radar gems-I get that. But if the 65 or so P5 schools aren't offering a particular recruit, what do they know that our recruiters don't? So count me in the DukeDawg camp on that point.

Here's the rub in my opinion: The chances of an entire freshman class of recruits (with no P5 offers), outperforming a class where most of the players had a couple of P5 offers, is pretty slim. Sure, it can happen, but I like my odds week in and week out with the former rather than the latter.

All that said, I do trust Cignetti. I would bet that several of the recruiting sites will be upgrading many of our recruits as their senior season progresses. Hope we can hang on to the ones that do get upgraded and get interest from the big boys.

Yep. Exactly my point.

Sure you can find the guys everyone misses (wells), but it's a risky strategy at the high fbs level to assume you can do that with an entire class.

As good as cig and the staff may be, its naive to think they are so good as to outsmart all over g5 coaches on 25 recruits per year.

We gotta have guys that our peers want badly as well

That's like Deion Sanders level speed.

Not sure what Neon Deion’s 40 speed was, but a 4.35 is pretty damn fast.
Deion was a 4.27 at the combine; Champ Bailey a 4.28 (so these were college seniors).

My cousin ran a 4.22, an official 4.22. He ran in the 4.2s multiple times.

I noticed that Cignetti isn’t following them on twitter.
Are we courting any other twins?

Or Cig just double posted :)

If we sign them, those have to be the highest rated and offered players we've ever acquired to date?

Based on their 24/7 number Alex the QB (.8444) would be 3rd and Andrew the lineman (.8378) would be 5th.

Current top ranked recruits are Jalen Green, Julio Ayamel and Marcus Hawkins, with the rankings being more ‘miss’ than ‘hit’.

Honestly those are the guys I worry about more. With the guys that already chose us over some P5 offers, they obviously aren't going to jump at just any bigger offer that comes along. But if we're a verbal commit's clear best offer, I'm more worried that he might jump ship as soon as a "better" offer comes along.

I know Alex has been following players committing to JMU on "twatter", as Mickey would say, and posted the eyeballs emoji for Chase Regan commiting to JMU...Chase in return did the "purple and gold hearts ??" to Alex when he said he has exciting news soon.

They have also been to campus 3 times Jan, Mar and just a few weeks ago. For me that's smoke...

Like that Clemson kid, except in Chase Regan's case, I think he is committed fully, especially since it seems a lot of the central PA folks are joining in because of the others. Also he might be acting a bit of #AgentRegan in adding to the Erby's desire to be here. If all the central PA kids said they'd all committ to JMU and now a couple of them do it, that might become a tidal wave of commits. Hard commits too.

I made sure to mention offers. I'd say they're a bigger deal based on actual scholarship offers, not arbitrary recruiting site numbers.

Green - UVA offer
Ayamel - Kentucky offer
Hawkins - No P5 offers

Erby DL - Offers from Duke, Louisville, Maryland, Nebraska, Penn State and WVU.
Erby QB - Offers from Duke, Louisville, Maryland, Nebraska and Pitt.

5 or 6 P5 offers > 1 or no P5 offers.
