Mark tonight as the night this stupid show jumped the shark. TV critic Alan Sepinwall said it best.

Jumped the shark? Bruh it was pretty obvious the zombie were eating the other guy and it's already been established that if you have blood over you masking your scent the zombies leave you alone.

First I love the show but it's a little silly to say a show about Zombies is jumping the shark. Just sayin'
Star Wars fans never seem to question fiery explosions in space. I don't know why people try to pick apart this show is such detail, as mentioned, it has zombies in every episode.
BINGO! I just think they jumped the shark when Yoda made the X wing levitate out of the mud on that planet.
All the above!!! Its still great TV.

He pulled himself under the dumpster (which goofballs online have been proving could be done by skinnier folk) and then killed a few around him, building a smelly, rotten, corpse-fort around himself. Just like we did when we were kids.

I think that Enid is going to take the place of Sophia in the comics and that this signals that Glenn will not be the one to bite the bat when Negan makes his debut. I'm still sticking with my prediction: it'll be Daryl.

I also think that next week will see the deaths of Jessie and her two boys. I'm also betting that we'll see some others die: probably Eugene and Rosita, along with a few other Aleandrians.

Maybe the mid-season finale will feature Daryl, Abraham and Michonne riding in to save the day, with Abraham using the rocket launcher to thin the heard. Glen and Enid will do something to help as well, if I were to guess.

You had a much cooler childhood than I did. You built "smelly, rotten, corpse forts". I just used pillows!

Sorry, that just struct me as funny. 04-cheers I agree with your point, though. Once Glenn blocked the sides of the dumpster with corpses, he was virtually invisible.
I don't think Glenn escaping that situation is such a ridiculous thing to have happen, but the act of dragging it out for multiple episodes even though everyone knew he was still alive is what made the whole thing seem contrived.

As I said earlier, the problem with the show is that it is forcing a character-driven story into a plot-driven tv show. They force characters to do things that make no real sense to further their railroaded plot. The comics have much smoother writing. The TV show has some poor writing, but it is still pretty above average TV overall and I still enjoy watching it.

I tend to agree with what the dude on Talking dead said last night. That there was so much going on with the development of everybody else s stories and the fact that not much actual time passed that it didn't bother me they drug it out.

Was she eaten entirely? I don't remember exactly the sequence, but Carl shot her and then when they went back the body was gone, right? Do the walkers even eat the headshot dead? I honestly don't remember much about that era because I was bored to tears with Rick's schitzo BS and kinda blocked some of the prison stuff out. I"ll have to rewatch on netflix or something.
The whole thing was contrived to build Glenn fans up only to crush them with Lucille at season's end.

Looking for their Red Wedding moment.

Because the show has always been written to be believable. You watch and see the realism in an unbelievable story. It has also created suspense because you know anyone can die. This year though, they show that is apparently not true and they put a character thru a scenario that should mean certain death, only to have him shimmy out of it.

It was a cool scene and gave people a lot to talk about for several weeks. That's good tv.

Bad tv gives people something to talk about for several weeks too. Don't get the two confused.

Yeah. I literally dropped the book when it happened.

I think Daryl or Morgan will be the one that meets their end courtesy of Lucille. Glenn will hang on for a season or two more. There's an outside chance it could be Abraham, but he's not central enough to the story line to have the impact of the more central characters.

Could be why they have inserted Morgan back in. Would be a counterpoint to his "every life matters". Still would suck. Glenn getting Lucille was horrible in the very best way.
... or Negan could crack MAGGIE over the skull instead. Now that would make for an interesting change to the original script.

I don't think that'll happen and I'll think that we'll see Daryl and perhaps one other get the bat. Whoever it is, it needs to cause as much pain as possible for as many viewers as possible.
Sorry but my family has enjoyed it.

I also think Glenn won't get the bat. My bet is Morgan right now.

I don't think Morgan is loved enough to generate the impact/emotion of the fanbase. It has got to be Glenn or Darryl. Maggie would generate too much outrage. I just can't see it being Michonne either.

The only argument for Morgan would be because it is a complete opposite stance on the "every life is precious" philosophy.
