I think you needed to see last season...even though they're entirely different to appreciate it
I may lose my man card for a bit but, I'm down with Downton Abbey also.

glad there's a thread about this show.

i just finished watching the latest episode

spoilers

i'm still sure not what to think.

i really like the premise, and for the most part enjoy the show, but i dislike a lot of the characters. i'm not sure if it's bad acting or bad writing (i'm not one to complain about these things normally), or maybe even clever writing that makes us tentative about each character given the permanent state of unease -- nonetheless, something feels off about most of these characters.

lori dies, which is cool -- i couldn't stand her. honestly, i was hoping for a more gruesome scene.

something about the developing relationship between carl and the farmer's daughter (who looks to be at least 7 or 8 years older than him, considering he's a child) seems not kosher and a bit off and i'm not sure why the other characters (namely maggie) don't seem to care.

i actually liked t-dog, and so it kind of stunk to see him go. especially considering he just kinda got bit without warning (though it seemed like someone could have warned him a bit earlier), then he died rather quickly against two walkers.

that brings me to another thing: walkers. are some just supposed to be exponentially more powerful than others? it seems like decomposition would sort of level the playing field after that long in terms of muscular strength. it also seems as if some are stupidly easy to kill, and many of the characters can ninja-stab them and whatnot, whereas others are nearly impossible for even the strongest of male characters to fend off. what gives?

i'm also unclear about how much time has passed at the prison. does anybody know?

on to angela and michonne: what is up with angela's character? it seems to me as if she'll be the one to lead the governor to the prison.

Well the relationship between the farmers daughter and Carl isn't necessarily like boyfriend and girlfriend. Maybe it's getting there for Carl but it's not for her (can't remember her name). She, Herschel, and Maggie probably just think it's cute.

Walkers' strength really depends on how long they've been dead, IMO. If they can absorb nutrients, they may be able to keep a little fresh.

As for Andrea, I think that she's fallen for the Governor just like the rest in his city.

As for decomposition, keep in mind that it's already been revealed that the walkers do decompose... just at a much slower rate than they did before the infection took hold.

Regarding Carl and "the farmer's daughter": understand that this show takes place in a pretty F'd-up place; her boyfriend is dead (eaten by walkers) and Carl is really the only option she has right now.
