More sloppiness from the last episode. Here is a pic of Carl using the wrong eye (eyepatch).

He could be a cross-dominant shooter (no, not hunting with straps and ball gags..... keep your mind out of the gutter...)

I'd go out dove hunting and come back with terrible bruises --- finally a friend guessed and confirmed I was a righty shooter with left dominant vision, I was tucking the butt way down into the meat of the shoulder while shooting.

P-ssed my friends off since I always shot circles around them.....

Considering Carl's injury, by definition he HAS to be a cross dominant shooter at this point with any auto or semi-auto that is seen in the series.
Some people go into a show looking for problems....

I watch the show for what it is. To those of us that do that the show is still interesting and must watch every week. Any show after this long is going to have ups and downs and mistakes.
Exactly. We just enjoy it as a family and don't look for every little detail wrong. Life is to short to dance with ugly women any way.....
Show runner says season finale will have an end unlike season six, he hinted it could be a feel good ending. Could it end with Negan occupying the cell Dwight was in?
Probably the lamest season end yet, lots of wasted time and somewhat predictable double cross by the garbage people.
I'd be okay if next season is the last. The next season premiere will be the 100th episode.

Agree. It might be time to wrap it up. I enjoyed last night, but overall this season has been slow and uninteresting. Next season will likely end with Negan in the cell, Dwight in charge of the Sanctuary and the other three communities living in peace with hope for the future. Not a bad way to end it. I would like to see the Whisperers, but I think the show has run its course. Make next season awesome and end it on a high note.
The Walking Dead initially referred to the zombies. Then it seemed to refer to the human survivors. Now the phrase refers to the show itself - a rotting corpse of a show that someone needs to put out of its misery with a headshot.
We enjoyed it. We will keep watching.
I usually just stop watching something I no longer enjoy....

if you don't like where the show is going or the pace You have a remote at your finger tips. Change the channel.

I will watch it in Oct and look forward to every Sunday.

I enjoy the stupidity and ineptitude of the writers.

After they get done with Negan, they need to do a budget busting final season with every idea they have left and a final resolution for the zombie plague, good or bad.

Last night just reaffirmed my earlier opinion. Episode was awful. However, the show runners have recently stated that the show could go on "for a long time"

I'm tired if the same old plot loops and filler with very little if any advancement of the story. And I'm not alone:

If next season is more of the same, I am not watching. I'm done unless the show goes back to its roots and gets back on a real narrative track.

What do you mean get back to it's roots? At this point in the show they are at the place they wanted to be since they went to the farm...

HOME

Or at least a place they can make into a home and start to build

Up till they reached this point the show was about surviving the zombies and the strong that wanted to take everything. They are past that now and the threat is humans. When you are moving from place to place you don't get the time to find other large groups that are looking for the very same things you want. Safety and a home to build into a way of live.

But as we seen since the early years there's always going to be groups looking to take what you have. The strong will always try to rule the world. It took then about 5 years (show years) to figure out how to control the zombies and stay safe from them. Now that they have a place they call home...

it's all about fighting off the humans

So to me this is about as close to their roots as you can get because since Rick found the group and they left the city. It was always about staying safe and finding that place they could actually feel safe enough to stop and build.

If you think this shows roots were about killing zombies and fighting zombies every show...that is not their roots
I'll prob stop watching after next season assuming they end the All Out War arc

My complaint with the show specifically is they tend to make characters do stupid/out of character things to drive the plot. That's bad writing. They were doing alright for a while this past season. They'll even change things in the comics that were already good into something bad. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Also the whole stealth ninja zombies sneaking up on people gets me every time. Happens at least once an episode

Still overall it's an above average tv show so can't complain too much.

At least we get a new Star Trek in a couple months that is spending 6+ million an episode. Hope it is Game of Thrones quality

What bugged me most about last night's episode was using the same style dream sequence flash back they used for Tyreese's final episode. They could have done something a little different. I'm guessing the war storyline will take half of season 8. To make that more possible, Rick's folks better get some reinforcements cause they still look vastly out numbered and they lost a lot of weapons to the garbage people.
Season 1 (6 episodes) is the only one that had a narrative track... And one they have completely ignored since then - finding a cure. There hasn't been any further discussion of how it started or how to end it since Eugene's lie. Thats a huge mistake for a zombie show. The plot is meandering and the excuses for narrative arcs we have gotten since then are pointless and repetitive, just as the Verge article discussed. There's absolutely no point to the story as the original premise has been functionally abandoned.

Season 1 was also the last time Frank Darabont was involved, and it very clearly shows. I hate the way AMC has turned this show into a soap opera in a lame zombie setting. Every episode is as pointless as a soap opera episode and the writing is just as bad.

All it takes is watching a well executed (or even moderately well executed) serial drama like Breaking Bad, GoT or even The Expanse to see how godawful the walking dead writing is.

The reason people speak with such venom about it is because we can all see how great it could be if it were handled correctly. That is really frustrating.
