That was my thought. Lots of people complaining about it, yet continue to watch.

It's a fictional TV show and nothing is ever going to appease the entire fanbase. Wished this thread had dialogue of what happens instead of disappointment from the path of the show.

I agree. I never understood people that complain about a TV show and say it needs to just die....but they keep watching.

If something was bothering me so much...I don't think I would watch it. It makes zero sense for someone to watch something then complain it shouldn't be on TV.

While I did not like the way Carl is going off the show...100 better, more interesting, ways than so low key like this. I watch this show knowing it's fully make-believe and in that context.

Some people still don't understand...it's not 8 years into this out break. I believe it's only 1.5 years or maybe less. And what happened at the start of this season is only days or a few weeks on what happens when season 8 is over.

It's been that way from day 1......

Game Of Thrones departs form the source material as well. Now that the HBO series has no more Game of Thrones books to follow, the producers have indicated they will go on for 2 more seasons and just tell thier own story. Maybe thats what the Walking Dead intends to do. The producers realize that while the Walking Dead comics might can go on forever, the TV series probably can only realistically sustain an audience for a few more seasons.

During the 100th episode celebration, they said they had the material for 100 more. The question is will they have the viewers for 100 more. I fast-forwarded through most of this season and just caught the highlights of each episode. Somewhere along the way I've lost any emotional attachment to the characters. Didn't phase me when Carl showed his bite. Not like Glenn. Or the ones before him. You can only keep the heroes downtrodden for so long before the people abandon hope and therefore interest. Need more resolution, then more challenge. The Saviors thing has drug on for 2 years. It's too much.

Although I'm glad they stuck to the "all out war" theme of this conflict instead of wrapping it up quickly I certainly understand this point. In fact, I have had several people tell me the same. They also admitted they were too invested to quit the show but that they just are not enjoying it anymore.

I saw it coming but somehow thought the wanderer that Carl found and helped would be a savior in disguise and he in turn would kill Carl. For me, that is what they were hinting at. The fact that Neagen would insert a mole to prey upon Ricks group's compassion. The character change from Carl along with all the flashback dialogue telegraphed what was going to happen.
The only part that bothered me about the finale were two items about the Hilltop/Maggie:

1. We heard all season that Negan wanted to make an example of Rick, Maggie and King Ezekiel. Why did they just let her off unscathed? Its almost like they no longer cared about the Widow. Also why did they let the entire group go back to the hilltop unsupervised? Just made no sense
2. They needed to make an example of someone so they end up shooting the one guy never seen? LOL. I knew that guy was gong to die when I saw him in the back of the car in earlier scenes.
I haven't watched any of this season, but it is all on my DVR. I just haven't felt motivated to catch up yet. Not like years past where I would be curious about what is happening. Now I just don't really care. FTWD is kind of the same way. I think I deleted whole episodes off of the DVR without watching them. I am about half way through the finale but I've only watched 15 minutes at a time and I'm a little lost about how they got to where they are. Just not interesting to me any more.

So you haven't watched any of this season but you are halfway through the finial and only watching 15 minutes at a time? Yet you are lost and don't really know how they got to that point?

You can't figure out why you are lost? OK...04-jawdrop
First half of season 8 tales place in just two or three actual TWD days.
Did Carl get bit like this in the comics?
i just wanna say i am one of those that complained all through last season and inevitably quit watching and will never go back. it is hilarious to listen to the bitching about this show now. it really is total trash television.

This is what I can't understand.

Why would someone who does not care about the show and does not watch it.....take time out of their life to read comment sections about it? Not only that but then go a step farther and actually write a comment.

What do you get from that? To me that is hilarious not that someone watching disagrees with it. And I find it hard to believe someone that doesn't watch could find something that that don't watch and complain about how bad it is. How does one do that?

I think there are a couple of reasons they are doing what they are doing.

1) Its the way they always do it. They show up with numbers and then leave after letting you know they are in charge.

2) Did you notice they surrounded Maggies convoy in large numbers---pretty much resolving the issue without a fight? Did you notice when they attacked Alexadria they used grenades rather than hose it down with small arms fire? Remember Eugene's herd strategy? I think the Saviors are basically out of ammo. The only battle where they actually fired their weapons was when the rear guard in Alexandria ambushed them. I think the Saviors are nearly out of bullets after taking out the herd. They need to win through intimidation because they cant really get into a situation where they actually have to fight a prolonged battle. The question I have is---if I’m right---why hasnt Dwight told Ricks group the Savior's real weakness?

And if you don't like opposing viewpoints on the show then don't read the thread. I don't discuss the show with my family, but I'll discuss it in a thread dedicated to the show. I don't see how someone who thinks the show is losing it's luster affects your ability to enjoy it. Maybe we should just close the thread and not discuss it anymore if it's going to upset people. The show evolved and not everyone is happy about it. That's TV.

This could be the case. In an the last episode or maybe the one before, he reminds Eugene that he needs him to start making more ammunition.

and if you don't like my observation then don't let it bother you. Just making an observation just as you are in a thread about the show. I have every right as you do. I just think its funny.

No, they mentioned that on "Talking Dead". They also mentioned that he was bit on air, but purposely didn't specify which scene. The show runner said they thought everyone (the audience) knew at the time he was bit and were surprised so many didn't. Most think it was when he and his friend were attacked by walkers in the woods.

Kid had just bought a house in Georgia, close to the filming locations. . . . He was also looking forward to the series playing out for Corral the way it had in the comics. . .

I've been wanting them to kill him off for like 5 seasons. He was so annoying. Finally this year he starts to become likable and now they decide to kill him off. Oh well.
A plot twist I mentioned to someone after last week's episode was that Carl will survive the bite because he's immune. Going through puberty gave him some kind of protection against the zombie infection. Have we had anyone who went through puberty after the world was infected and was then bitten and became a zombie?

I know...far fetched....but it is a zombie TV show so anything is possible.
I still enjoy the show, but it needs to get to a stopping point sooner than later. Both sides have made several nonsensical decisions so far this season. It’s like watching two blind kids box.

And until they put a knife in Carl’s dome, I don’t believe he’s dead.

Possibly Carol's daughter, hard to say. She was 10-12 and girl's hit it earlier. But she would have only been starting puberty at best. Would make for an interesting plot to find out that procreation would cure the world, eventually as the children grew up. Give some hope to the abysmal world they're in now.
