i debate crazy takes, i rarely debate anything this is torn between... in my entire multiple years here ive never had 1 debate where it was multiple fans bases saying im wrong (normally 1 fanbase at a time - in the actual debate).. because i almost never make hot takes.. most of my debates are like "why consensus bottom 2 team isnt the top 4 team in this league" with fans of that team saying they are.. or why all-American candidate isnt bad (like 1 fans is saying), and is all-American for a reason.. or the recent one with memphis fans who said penny didnt contact davis while he was at SMU, i said that didnt make sense... ps its been confirmed that penny and davis talked through 3rd party while he was at SMU by Jason Munz
i never go "hot take".. when memphis is a preseason top 15 team and some are doubting them saying "penny cant coach" im never in those debates.. you didn't seem me debating if memphis was good, i just put them preseason #1.. if there is a general consensus on something i just go with it
whats crazy is that i regularly change stances...when memphis got that massive covid outbreak (from the party bus) i made a note about it, multiple Memphis fans told me i was wrong and to edit the thread... i did... it ended up being true ..or when i noted emoni bates was likely gone and many memphis fans said he was coming back just on a short break for a few games according to his dad.. i said sure, and said i guess he is coming back
my long debates might seem like i think "im right all the time" but actually look at the debates ..stating a juco will shoot 50% in the aac because they shot 50% in juco is a dumb point.. why would i concede to that, these are the debates i have

That's what he did with me a while back. I knew something for a positive fact because I was there, and he told me over and over again that I was wrong. Such people are why bathrooms sometimes have long lines.

3 years ago when penny was getting all the elite recruits , shortly after memphis flopped, i said it's odd how memphis fans went from "overconfident to modest".. after taking a couple bad losses.. they started projecting theyd losses to every bad team...
he said i was wrong that memphis fans were always modest, and were never overconfident.. i noted he might have been but to say memphis fans in general weren't overconfident is just wrong.. and then went to quote a bunch of preseason hot takes from memphis fans

I think Pesik can be long winded but he's honestly pretty objective. I think its a shame that the board likes to attack one of its best contributors. Regardless of whether you like his opinions/analysis Pesik is definitely a net positive for this board. Unfortunately he'll be taking his talents to the Big XII board after next season.

I understand the logic, but how are they going to actually do that, since almost any rule the NCAA makes can likely be interpreted as restricting players' ability to obtain NIL, per the Supreme Court ruling?
For example, the NCAA says no boosters can be involved in NIL, yet several states have laws allowing boosters, and SCOTUS doesn't recognize boosters (or anybody else) as a special group that can be banned. It was in one of the articles I posted on the subject.
I'll perfectly honest with you TripleA I have no idea how the NCAA might limit the current NIL stuff. I just know that its widely being talked about. Personally I have no issue with the NIL stuff. I also know that CKS is helping to get our guys deals. I think the nuance of his view on it is that he's prioritizing getting the guys we already have NIL deals versus getting new recruits NIL deals. Which personally makes a ton of sense to me. I mean if I'm a 3rd year starter on a team with little to no extra benefits other than my scholarship and my team is out there pulling in new players on lucrative NIL deals, I'm putting my name in the portal.
I think coach p is a huge service to this site. He has a great knowledge of Houston and the other league teams, but.... I must admit I have had to call him out as a homer on a few occasions. I am not going back to the summer of 2017 or 18 to find the thread.
