So much for all the inside info. Seems like every time HM announces someone is on the radar they turn into a puff of smoke and disappear. Let's just hope he decided on Hofstra because JJ has a bigger and better option.

We will need an inside player to beat VCU this year. Let’s hope he wasn’t one of the mystery guys referenced earlier. It does suck to see our worst rival get a player that fits our needs. But that guy sounds like he must have some issues too.

Couldve used him bad. Even only having 1 year to play (Regardless of Jones' future with ODU after this year) still chose to go to a team who finished 18-15 over 25-7. Inflated wins I agree but still. Just smells really bad.

Who said we offered him a spot? The guys we are recruiting are a step up from him.

...and they're all signing elsewhere too so what effin' good does that do us? Maybe we should've offered him *if we didnt*

FWIW, Taylor was not the guy I was told we were after either. Though, Taylor would seem like a good fit.
Seriously, we lost out on the dude that was good enough to play here to Hofstra, but didn't want the dude that signed with VCU?

I'm going to guess that he had designs on VCU when he decided to leave FGCU. That was a pretty quick turnaround.

Wonder if the McClinton situation made them wary of Taylor.

ODU signees for 2018 chose the Monarchs over Kansas State, VCU and Middle Tennessee, among others. Is ODU better than *those* clowns?

It definitely sucks that this guy chose Hofstra. I'm sure he had his reasons, but I'll confess that it's a head-scratcher unless he has a Long Island fetish?

I would like some of whatever you are drinking and/or smoking, please!
Yeah, I don't know it to be true, but I really hope the reason Taylor went to Hofstra was because our guy committed. If that was the case, I would guess we would hear something soon.

We have plenty of room for two such guys in our starting lineup.

If Aaron Carver is starting, we're sunk.

Taylor is a very similar player in style to the other recruit. You aren't getting Taylor to come here and come off the bench after leaving Purdue for more playing time. And you certainly aren't going to but Taylor and a player similar to him side by side in the starting lineup.

Could be that he is from Massachusetts so he is about 6-8 hours closer to home and family. Who knows.

Doesn't look promising. Ed couldn't wait to write about the guy who was supposed to visit, but we lost out to Hofstra.

If we had a commitment, we certainly should be hearing something by now.

Disagree. He knew about that planned visit for a while now.

Perhaps. He was on top of Taylor's commitment to Hofstra.

He was also prompt on twitter with commitments to VCU, Marshall, and MTSU.

Maybe he is sitting on our big man commitment for a reason, I just can't imagine what it would be.

I don't know. I just don't agree with "he couldn't wait" to write about him visiting. If that were true, the article would have been posted 2 weeks ago.
No one wants to come play for jones. Other coach’s are all up in everyone’s ears saying he will be fired after next year (Which is hopefully true).

Being a lame duck coach and recruiting suffering go hand in hand.

No one has signed with jones since he yet again failed to make the NCAA tourney and our best returning big and our highest rated freshman that these same “fans” stated was the next bazemore just transfered out of the program because of our coach.

It is what it is folks.

Why would a grad transfer care if he were fired after next season?

In a vacuum they wouldn’t but if you think coach’s aren’t using jones’s Impending dismissal against him in recruiting then you are totally kidding yourself.

I’m just glad we’ve have no de-commits yet.

I know next year will be a big struggle recruiting-wise. And I know any coach worth their salt would use that against him. But that has nothing to do with the failures to land a grad transfer.

As for decommits, they're all signed. They'd have to request a release.
