Your source is probably working off old information

Nope. Less than two weeks ago.
That's right, the article said they were talking to Kante, a good first step but no more than that at this point, I'd say.

Could that name have been Malik Martin from USF?
Doesn't sound like it'll be Michael Gilmore.
This is brutal.

No one wants to come play for a lame duck coach, it’s pretty obvious at this point.

Yeah this **** is starting to smell really bad.

We will need an inside player to beat VCU this year. Let’s hope he wasn’t one of the mystery guys referenced earlier. It does suck to see our worst rival get a player that fits our needs. But that guy sounds like he must have some issues too.

Couldve used him bad. Even only having 1 year to play (Regardless of Jones' future with ODU after this year) still chose to go to a team who finished 18-15 over 25-7. Inflated wins I agree but still. Just smells really bad.

He was not one of the targets

Who said we offered him a spot? The guys we are recruiting are a step up from him.

Good to know. Thanks.
What if Jeff Jones fails to land all of the transfers he isn't recruiting? Should he be terminated immediately?

We have our sights set on Jacquil Taylor from Purdue. He is what matters at this point. Michael Gilmore means absolutely nothing to this offseason. Jeff lands a big man that can step out and shoot the ball, while also protecting the rim, he has done his job this offseason.
Is your argument that everyone who plays PF and C should be recruited because they're better than who we currently have? If so, I think that's setting the bar ridiculously low. You'd be doing that because either you want ODU/Jones to fail, or you have no clue what it's like to recruit at this level...or both. We shouldn't just offer anyone and everyone just because we have nobody at those positions on campus except Carver. We should be focused on a select few transfers who will be able to take us to the next level. Our idea of a good big man and VCU's idea of a good big man have been really far apart for the last twenty years. Their standards are lower and/or different than ours. I'll trust Jones to get the next solid big man. He's had a good track record so far.

Quote:Purdue graduate transfer Jacquil Taylor has committed to Hofstra University.

Taylor announced the news on his Instagram page.

The Massachusetts native is set to graduate from Purdue this spring, but will be immediately eligible to play at least one season for the Pride.

The 6-10 Taylor appeared in 19 games for the Boilermakers last season. He averaged 1.8 points and 1.5 rebounds.

Taylor will join a Hofstra program that finished 19-12 overall, 12-6 in the Colonial Athletic Association this past season.
That's great. JJ can't even out-recruit Hofstra now.

What's next fellas?
