Houston I like the sound of Parker.

Gonna post this here since so many seem to like Iron Maiden (me included).

They should let Scotty do more classic stuff on his albums instead of the junk the record execs want him to sing. He sounded like the ghost of Conway Twitty.

hilarious. i was driving around listening to a lucero album from 2012 this morning in fact. god it was so awful. i was expecting something like that much further west (which is the only album i really know and it's sweet) and it was like they were a bar band. or ska

i saw them play back in aught nine or something at the southgate house and they weren't what i was expecting. nor the crowd. they had like a fan club who apparently traveled the tour

and an extra because the Persuasions are awesome...

As you guys know, when I post, I like to go in bunches.... and to post some new hotness that I haven't posted or genres/artists I've been listening to that I haven't posted in a while ...so lets dig into the crates shall we?

Lets dig into some Beasties....

Nas and them just have that vibe in this one....

Very few rappers can sound old and new and fresh at the same time and keep up the nice beats....
Don't sleep on The Game.... but IMO ...he's good but his gang talk gets old after a while but he can actually flow and has some good beats...

I loved that DOC remixed beat...

Just got in my Def Leppard V1 cd collection set my GNR Appetite Remastered CE with bonus materials.....  I'm vegging out on these over the weekend.

On Through the Night
High 'N' Dry
Pyromania
Hysteria
Live concert
Rare tracks
First EP

Loaded up the cd changer and blasted through this collection I got the other day. Them boys kicked ass back in the day. Not sure what happened post Hystyeria but this has been some kick ass metal to go through from back in the day.

Everyone knows the original album was the **** but...

All the live and studio sessions of a lot of unreleased material, released material, and some killer covers has been blasting out the stereo today as well. Some of the studio session stuff has that in the studio feel to it but a lot the material was excellent to revisit, listen to the first time, and I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed going back through their early era up through and before the Use Your Illusions came out. I also found it interesting that some of the tracks that ended up on the UYI cds were already in the works so to speak during their first Ep--Appetite--Lies era of recording music.

I can't say I like or dislike Iron Maiden. When they were "current" in the metal scene for me I never really listened to them even if I thought the character of Eddie on all the band shirts I saw around was kind of cool. Quite a few years ago I came across their hits disc Best of the Beast. I liked that hits disc enough to like it but I can't say it made me a fan to get into their catalog like the Essential Judas Priest double cd did for Judas Priest. I like his vocals. I kind of like a lot of their storytelling/lyrics in their songs but I find my enjoyment to piecemeal in their material.

Megadeth kind of falls in the same category with the hits disc I got of theirs. But mainly, Mustaine's vocals I just can't deal with for long periods of listening ...same thing goes for the front-man to The Offspring.
Hmmmm...

recently discovered these

Apparently Eminem dropped a new album last weekend and is back on the attack of haters and wack mcs.

Other versions.

I think I will play this like I did with MoP DLX.... I might get the 3CD version with the live stuff and the album itself @ $25. Demos, rough cuts, interviews, and tons of live stuff isn't where I'd spend money I don't have but I think the base version being $12 and the expanded version being $25... .I could see myself getting the expanded.

And honestly, that GNR set was super cool but that had a lot of unreleased stuff that was live/studio and not just in-progress takes at material already out there.

Most excellent Dale. Makes me want to get in my car and drive a great distance listening to this music. I also like this tune from them...
