AJ Walton turned down some money in the 10th round. The Phillies called him and offered a certain amount, and he told them to not waste the pick and that he's going to Old Dominion.

Very excited to see AJ at the Bud next season. He could be a star for us.
Tommy Bell and Andy Garriola are coming back! This 2022 squad just got a lot better.

Yes...but he may need some development. We will see. Either way, he's an excellent addition.

Awesome news! We're bringing back a whole lot from last years team. No word on Holiday yet?

Doc was drafted. So we will have to wait and hear if he and Ryne come back to ODU or not.

Well our offense shouldn't miss a beat next year and if both of those decide to give it another year our bullpen will be looking pretty damn good too.
For the drafted players because the draft was later, they have about 3 weeks to negotiate and make the call on whether to turn pro or now. We'll know by August 1st/2nd if Holiday and Moore are coming back

I'll say other than Battle we will have pretty much all the fire power coming back. This is great. Now we need some pitching help. 04-cheers great news indeed.
I actually like the staff next year….a lot if Holliday and moore come back. Levari is gonna pitch next year. A couple recruits look like really good pitchers. There are also some talented guys that just didnt get a chance to pitch a ton last year.

I expect Battle and Tommy Bell to get scooped up quickly on the free agent market. The big question mark is Garriola. Does he come back or does he sign? Free agency isn’t ideal now for underclassmen so I assume he comes back but you never know until they do.

I have a feeling the mistake Garriola made during the Summer of 2019 is part of the reason he wasn’t drafted.

Hopefully he has a chance to prove that it was a mistake.
I'm thinking it was his performance in Columbia.

Based on that statement, I am going to assume you don’t know what his mistake was. His performance in Columbia wouldn’t make him undesirable.
Hes gotta learn how to hit a breaking ball

I don't specifically know. He was 0-15 with 8 strikeouts. Dig a little deeper in the box scores and one can see that most of the lineup didn't hit well in Columbia like they had most of the season. Better pitching? I don't know. Better scouting? Possibly. Programs like UVA and USC have more resources to scout than our regular season opponents have. USC didn't have to travel so they had some extra time. UVA probably did some scouting prior to our rained out game in Charlottesville that they were able to add on to.

And Petracci will presumably be healthy again.

Better pitching. More of a pitchers park. Very small sample. There could be a host of reasons.

Either way, Im very excited about next years team.

Yeah. Regarding Holiday, he is listed as "released" from his Cape Cod League team. Not sure exactly what that means but it could be to rest a bit before signing and shipping off to his minor league destination.

He was picked up by that cape cod team due to a injury to another player. When that player returned, despite his great play, they cut him

Ah, thanks. But pitchers are an odd lot. A little rest might do him good.
