Ha Ha Ha.
I don't think he would accept the pay cut.03-wink
Bad News, Selig ruled out Keatts on the radio.
However, he certainly hinted that Enfield is in the mix.
What about Richard Pitino? Maybe Rick Pitino is exerting his influence and making sure that Keatts and Pitino are not competing for the job.
Thanks Coach, can always count in you to decipher what's really going on!

Doubt he'd leave FIU after 1 year. But who knows, either way, this search just comes off as strange, with the names that it has come down to.

Pitino and Rhoades both recently interviewed at Siena. I would think we have a chance.
Enfield has to be the top choice. His business experience includes fundraising and running an administration. He plays an exciting style. He can sell and recruit and is a good age. He has been a success at every aspect of life and everything he touches turns to gold. At this point, BCS openings are a stretch, though if he wins another game or two, all bets are off. He has to be the top choice. Perfect candidate.

If you are worried about recruiting, think of it this way... this is a very average looking man that roped that lady and managed to get those athletes to come to a startup program, not to mention his business success. The man can sell. I for one hope Florida runs them off the court so he doesn't get courted by USC and MInnesota.
I think their concern is being strung out by Enfield while the other candidates get jobs at lesser programs and then Enfield simply uses us as leverage for himself.

Then we are stuck with Felton.

I'd love to have Pitino, he has quickly turned around an awful FIU hoops program, and would be a good fit here IMO.
Thought i heard Johnny D say Enfield is in the process of negotiating a contract extension.

Anyone know anything about that?
I think they were starting fundraising to double his salary. Devyanks had a post about it somewhere in this thread I think.
Listening to the segment from Cattles' show. Where does Wood rule out Keatts? If Enfield's not in the mix, couldn't Keatts be the last one that has a team still playing?

Yes, they are fundraising to double his salary, which would put him at $300k. No idea what Wood would be looking to pay him and his stock will continue to rise if he happens to beat Florida as well. A lot at play here and that is probably why there are multiple candidates. Just because he is the top candidate (speculation) doesn't mean we will be able to come to terms.

It was on 102.1 this morning. They are down to 5 and only one is currently involved in the Sweet 16 and it is a head coach.

Here is the answer to my question directly from their hometown paper.

Don't worry Hugh, I am starting a rumor that Keatts is going to come here anyways and be the associate HC in waiting.
Do you think Enfield really cares about money? He is a millionaire.
Of course he cares about money and his wealth has been greatly exaggerated. He owns a very small share of a good company, and I am sure he benefits nicely from the distributions, but he is not a millionaire... at least not in the sense that he can wipe himself with $100s (not sure what his actual net worth is, but he is not "wealthy")
