Smitty...like your optimism ! But not very likely at all. We had 19 wins last year. We can win +25 games this year and not make the NCAA tournament because of our horrible schedule. That means we must win the CUSA tournament. Have we ever won the CUSA tournament ? Also....we still don't have a scorer other than perhaps Caver. Points this year will be a premium again. I am thinking that if JJ has this team stuck in a structured slow paced Offense we are in trouble. Just thinking realistically but hoping for a breakout year offensively.
I do think Caver and Stith are pretty good scorers. They could average a dozen a piece. Porter/Brandan should average 20 combined. .
Caver averaged 13 points per game last year. I think that goes up to 15 this year, especially if we actually play with a faster pace.

Despite "not being a scorer" BJ averaged 10.8 last year. I'm hoping he can keep that going, hopefully with more consistency than feast-or-famine.

Brandan + Porter = 9.9 + 6.6 = 16.5 last year. That obviously has to increase. All comes down to health and it sounds like Porter is beasting in the off season workouts, and he's always shown really great potential. Can they up it 4 more points per game for the two of them?

Points we are losing:

Talley = 11.3. This is where the big share will need to be spread. Can Green pick up where Talley left off? Caver will have to take some and put it towards his points (3). That leaves 8 for Green and Haynes.

Baker = 6.7. These points should go to the freshman. Can we expect 6.7 points per game out of them? Seems high.

Taylor = 3.8. All to AC.

My silly little exercise with plenty of science leads us to 61.4 points before adding in freshmen. 68.1 if they can replace Baker. We averaged 64 last season.

I am not sure what my conclusion is supposed to be, other than we are going to really need Caver to step up and be ready to carry the team.
Unfortunately with this schedule, the only way we are going dancing is to win the conference tournament.
Here's a screen capture I got from one of Coach Ko's Instagram vids showing the new practice facility. He was showing off how the walls could be written on with a new type of coating but I found the below image more interesting. I don't believe this is the final say but more of a practice type line up.

Cant see it
I think realistically we can see...Caver and BJ at about 28 points per game combined. BS and Porter at 22 points per game combined. So that puts at 50. We won't win many games at 50. We need to be at around 63-67pts. / game to be successful. I am struggling to find the 13 to 17 points per game from the others. Also this assumes the guys contributing to the 50 pts in a game. Our defense will keep us in most every game we play assuming no foul trouble.

You only named 4 players. Of course you are going to get a low number
If we get 50 per game from those 4, we are gonna win a ton of games.

The pic is pretty much what i expected.
Smitty, I love a man of conviction!!!

I said in the post that I was struggling to find 13 to 17 pts/game from the others.

Exactly...My point is 50 a game from those 4 consistently is optimistic. Plus add another 13-17 from all the others. Like I said points will be a premium this year so realistically I can't see an NCAA bid nor can I see us winning the CUSA Tournament. I just think we are going to be challenged to score enough points. What's new !!!

There are 13 more eligible players that you didn't mention. You don't think they can score 1 point per game?

Baker and Taylor averaged 10 points per game last year. You are probably looking at around 20-25 from players not named Stith, Caver, Porrter.

Me too. Gonna check out my new seats at the Practice Friday night.

My wife will not like my new seats. Old ones had such great access to the restrooms and concessions. But I wanted to be lower. Try for one season at least.
I got my men and women's season tickets in the mail today..
Got ours yesterday as well.
