We have Porter for next year as well as Carver, Pilvious, and I'm guessing McClinton for a year. Reece and Ekikpe will be freshman.

Not really against a big man transfer, but I don't think its dire straights in terms of numbers.
Pilvious is 6'4 if he's lucky.

Not sure what his actual height is, but ignoring whether he's good enough, what position does he play for us?

With apparently our entire freshman class that I heard multiple times would all be impact players this year and the best recruiting class in odu history (but somehow can't get on the court over a juco transfer on a 150 rpi team).
Hmm.
Bowling Green is making its' second straight weekend trip to Norfolk. Last Saturday, they beat the Green and Gold 92 to 77 at Echols. You'd think if you're doing two games this close to each other, you'd make them a few days apart so you dont have to make two trips.

I also noticed that they play one D2 game and one NAIA game this season.

Possibly, but that is what everyone called Carver as well.
Ken Pom has us st 75 right now, MTSU at 77.

Temple 42
VCU 87
Towson 105
Dayton 109

Next game..bowling green 215
Big win last night kept our at large bid possibility on life support. Must win out the OOC portion and can't lose more than 1 regular season game and get to the finals.
^ You are crazy if you think this team can go 22-1 up until the CUSA championship game. That is, however, exactly what it would take for us to get an at-large bid. Not happening...
Bowling Green is leading their division in the MAC, but let's look more closely:

Best win: 83-80 Vs. FGCU (5-3)
Worst win: 109-106 OT Vs. Lake Erie College (D2/NAIA)

Kinda sad: they still have one D2/NAIA left on the schedule (Lourdes)

Assuming we beat them, they will most certainly not be an RPI employee. I'd rather risk a loss at a competent mid-major than this

Even that would, at best, put us on the bubble. Not sure that we would have the resume (Big Win) that the NCAA usually looks for.

Let's see if we can finally win at Marshall and we'll talk. We already know that we aren't beating MTSU.
Geeze, some folks love to worry. Already saying stuff about having to go 22-1. Give it a rest. Lets get to 10 wins, then 15, then 20 and see where we are at that point. No matter who we play, they are all division 1 squads. We can beat any or lose to any. Ask UAB about Richmond. Ask Notre Dame playing at home about Ball State.

I never forget Blaine saying, you better respect your opponent, they give out scholarships too. If all you care about is making the NCAA's, you will probably be disappointed. Not going 22-1 most likely. But who knows, that's why they make you play the game.

And we don't know we are losing to MTSU.

Carver's isn't 6'4" (which may be generous)

Next week Alvis will be 6-2, lol.

There are numerous 6-4 to 6-6 college "3s and 4s." It depends what style he plays. FWIW, every time he's gotten in the game, he's played down low, including posting up that big goofy kid from Richmond last night. Jones calls him a power forward. He's not much shorter than Carver.

Height is the last thing I'm worried about in regards to him; I don't even know if he can play. Either way, the point remains that they have numbers in terms of amount of "big men."

FWIW, Vassor is listed at 6-7 and he's not that much taller either. Kah was listed at 6-9 and if he's 6-9 then Porter is over 7 foot. McClinton is listed at 6-7 and he might be taller than Brandan.

Agree to disagree. Let me repeat, for two years of classes, our only big man is Aaron Carver.

And McClinton at the very least. Then next year we have 2 other big men coming in

That's what you are seeing. At what point should we expect to go to the NCAA's? Year 6? 7? 10?

We've had enough CIT/CBI/Vegas Tourneys, not to mention losing to the same teams every year (W&M, VCU, Marshall, MTSU).

Not that it matters:
Pilavious: 6'4.5"
Carver: 6'5.5"

Their height is what it is.

Obviously it's more resource-intensive, but it seemed like a great way to nab overlooked talent (Vasylius, Lee, Iliadis)...although I think we got some less-than-stellar players too (Harris, Larsen).

The international pool is full with talent; Gonzaga has certainly taken advantage of it.

I could be mistaken, but I really think Larry Kristowiak was the one recruiting loughton and company.

Gerald lee was after his time here but I think there was an odd story behind his recruitment, it wasn't the result of repeated euro recruiting, it was an odd coincidence or something like that.

It's been a while so I could be mistaken, wouldn't be the first time.
