Why would you expect a loss at WKU? Too many unknowns for them at this point to mark either game a win or loss.
If we strike gold against Temple (62) Auburn (33) and Clemson (60) in the Charleston Classic that would be HUGE come tournament time. Got to beat temple first tho!

Thats Rice, NTx, FIU, SoMiss. Other than FIU, they all bring something significant to CUSA. Rice: academic prestige. Nxt-decent football, SoMiss, decent football and name recognition. FIU is getting better in football. So thats the problem with an all-sports conference. And don't forget, SoMiss was top 25 in basketball just a few seasons ago. Theres an argument our basketball would be better off without football because we'd be in the A10, but that ship has now sailed. The AAC is where we need to be obviously, but thats what the rest of the top half of CUSA is thinking too.

Just looking at the numbers. They have WKU rated higher than us. If WKU doesn't get these two players eligible, I like our chances at a sweep. Otherwise, Im happy with a split.

The bottom of C-USA is absolutely pathetic. Lose one to FIU, Southern Miss, or North Texas and that is a season killer.

Only five top-100 games guaranteed, with the possibility of two more in Charleston. So seven tops in the regular season. And while that's using one set of rankings, those numbers probably hold up elsewhere. I don't think it's as bad a schedule as others do, but unless there's a few surprises ont he schedule, I don't see six losses being close to good enough to get an at-large bid. Hell, Middle Tennessee was 29-4 heading into the CUSA final last year, and if they lost, there was a distinct possibility that they'd be left out. And their OOC wasn't exactly dog food either.

And if MTSU got left out with only 5 losses, it would be a travesty. What is the point of even being in D1, if you win all of your games but 4 in the regular season and still aren't deemed good enough when other teams from money conferences with twice that many losses will get in?!?! Unless the P5 conferences want to expand and absorb everyone else, they need to let up a little on that monopoly a little bit. You can only win the games you have scheduled. Its not MTSUs fault they aren't in the SEC, ACC or Big10. Im sure ODU would love to join one of those conferences too. Unless the money conferences are open to taking in more teams, the NCAA needs to be a bit more even handed and less biased against good teams from other conferences. Make the standard the same for everyone, and take the teams with the best records regardless. If a P5 school doesn't like it, they should leave that conference and go dominate CUSA, A10, CAA or whatever if they think they can.
I think the NCAA values the upset and the Cinderella story, they will be losing that if they squeeze out quality mid majors for below average P5 teams. They need to go strickly off of RPI after automatic bids. The #63 RPI team who is 20-11 and No. 10 team in the Pac 12, should not get in over a #55 ODU (or any mid major) RPI team who is 27-4 from C-USA.

Absolutely, that's what stinks about the NCAA tournament. The tournament should be about crowning a national champion based on regular season and league tournaments. If an ACC team looses half its league games and gets knocked out in their league tournament they have not earned a chance to play for the national championship in my book. You may have a team that wins the regular season in their league ( like CUSA) and gets beat in the championship round of their tournament. I think they are more deserving of playing for a chance to win a national title than a school from a big conference with an average record.

Absolutely. The NCAA should be obligated to take regular season and tournament champions from every conference. That will often be the same team, so however many slots are left after that to fill out the field would be the at-large teams. At least the NIT values the regular season.

Not a chance that happens, and the mid major conferences would be the first to kill it. That scenario kills the conference tournament, and nobody in college basketball wants that to happen.

The worst thing they did. Was have the regular season camps, get the auto bid for the NIT. Gives the selection committee a out, "they have the NIT."

At large is not happening with that schedule. One top 50 game (if auburn is that good even)

Yeah right........some of you guys are always good for a laugh.

Bingo. They've only screwed mid majors even worse since that happened.

They changed the selection process and no longer look seriously at RPI. That is what changed. Hence it has been years since someone other than Butler or Gonzaga made a run as a mid. VCU and George Mason were both at large bids.

Hey we had a closed scrimmage against GW right? I know it was closed but anyone get word of stats, or talk to any coaches/assistants? I know the black and piss yellow squad up 64 played and lost to Georgetown.

ANY WORD ON OURS?

Someone else posted we won by 10-15 ish. Still waiting on stats, but if we don't have them by now they may never be available.
I don’t have individual stats but we won by 20ish.
In talking to the players at the practice the older bunch all said “we are balling this year” was a sign of confidence . JJ talked about the schedule and said Charleston is a great opportunity and the middle of the road regular season has some good even contests - obviously not THE P5 dandies but good matchups that will benefit us going into conference. All in all I sensed a good team makeup with gelling abilities . I like our chances this year.
Towson might actually be pretty good this year too. Just want to say it here first in case we lose the home opener that we all don't completely lose our minds in early November. Some have picked them to win CAA

There are no excuses for losing to Towson. Ever.
