it's sorta like the city of buffalo returning a favor for sending the bills to the playoffs. we transcend sister cities and become spirit cities

Sucks that 2 of the more prestigious schools (Memphis/UCONN) in the league are down right now. I just can't get over how terrible a hire Tubby was. I feel like most our road games are like playing in a church. At least in the old CUSA days our foes would bring big crowds for UC (Charlotte, Marquette, UAB, etc.)
Yup. Watched UConn almost lose to USF this week- was thinking how low can it go? Old CUSA was pretty hyped for road game crowds as I remember too.

The AAC makes me nostalgic for the old CUSA days. Always fun to play Charlotte and Marquette. I remember watching Dwyane Wade and that transfer from Missippi State tearin us up at the Shoe during their Final Four year. And before that I believe was Donald Littleā€™s oh no..oh yes! Jumper to beat Marquette for the CUSA title.

Charlotte, Saint Louis, Southern Miss and UAB are a shell of their old CUSA selves today on the court, and as you would expect their attendance suffers. Their attendance last year:

Charlotte- 4,551
Saint Louis- 5,593
USM- 2,783
UAB- 4,134

With the exception of Saint Louis, all those schools have worse home attendance than Tulsa.

That's really sad. I'll always have a special place in my memories for those programs, especially Charlotte and UAB as we had some really great battles with those teams in the '90s/early 2000's. I do like being in a conference with Memphis, Houston, and (to a lesser extent) Tulane again, but there are a lot of old foes I miss -- both C-USA and Big East.
USF at home hanging close with Temple but few locals care.
Villanova is struggling at home vs. Butler. I wonder if there's any chance we jump them in the polls with 2 losses this week?
Also, Purdue and Michigan State play each other and Virginia and Xavier both have fairly tough games against Virginia Tech and Creighton. We may finally move into the top 5 on Monday if we take care of business at SMU.
TT plays @K-State tonight, and I think they drop this game. This should give us some breathing room for the 2 seed.
Temple getting into position to blowout USF
WVU gets bit at the end, loses 88-85 at home to Oklahoma State.

Huggins was literally apoplectic in his post-game comments. Says, "I have to watch what I say..."
Gameday had us firmly at a two this morning. Seth Greenberg really likes us. When they talked about teams that have the potential to slide, they did not mention UC. They all believed that we would plow through the rest of the conference.
And get the #1 seed
Kansas loses at Baylor. That's a big help for UC.
What a game by Ms State. Down 10 with under 2 to put in ot.

They stopped short of that. They had the ones as VA, Villanova, Purdue, and Duke.
12-0 run over last 1:30

No. Seth Greenberg called it.

Xavier got almost zero discussion even though they put them on the 1 line...for now. Loved it.

Towards the end of the broadcast they said they thought UC was one of the least likely to slip up down the stretch and might move up to a 1 seed because others will slip up.

The last minute of that game was insane. Total breakdown by Mizzou.
Hoping State can pull it out. Makes the win by UC over them look even better as they do well.

And as a fan of State (kid went there) good to see them in discussion for the tourney. They haven't been to the NCAAs for 9 years.
