PFF has updated their overall draft Big Board:
Overall Rank (Position Rank)
#8 (#2) - Sauce Gardner
#23 (#2) - Desmond Ridder
#52 (#13) - Myjai Sanders
#91 (#17) - Alec Pierce
#98 (#13) - Coby Bryant
#100 (#7) - Jerome Ford
#106 (#11) - Darrian Beavers
#112 (#6) - Bryan Cook

If the draft goes chalk, that would mean we'd have 8 guys drafted in the first 4 rounds...I also have a feeling Pierce and Ford are going to move up draft boards after this week and the Combine comes through. Myjai measured really poorly (incredibly short arms) for an edge rusher, so that may hurt him a bit.

FAR more shockingly...CBS Sports has BRYAN COOK going #32 in their latest mock.

If so, that means he's going to the Bengals!

Hell Yeah!!
Measurements if anyone is interested in that sort of thing.

To be clear, I'm not saying Des WON'T be drafted in the 1st and 2nd rd. He most likely will. And I'm not saying he didn't make tremendous strides from year 1 to year 4. My initial point was that in MY OPINION, he won't be a successful NFL QB. I hope I'm proven wrong.

Thats like saying Joe Burrow isn't elite because all he does is throw jump balls to Higgins and Chase. Part of being a good QB is putting the ball in the best position for your WR to make the catch. For Pierce that was allowing him to high point the ball. For Tyler Scott it was allowing him to outrun his defender. It is a give and take.

Pretty convinced PFF was trolling by leaving Sauce at CB#5 all year.

Des has the eye candy measurables. 10 inch hands and a Condor's wingspan to boot. There's a lot of short QB's listed for that game. Unless you're elite athletic as hell, six footers or less is a red flag in the NFL.

Woah, he blows the other guys out the water. For reference, he has the same wingspan, arms, and hand size as Justin Herbert who is 3 inches taller.

I hope Metz gets to measure in a few years at the Senior Bowl. Need to see those numbers.

Yeah, it's definitely a good start to the Draft circuit for Des...hopefully he shows out this week.

On another note, I'm shocked that Sam Howell measured at 6'0"...that dude looked like the shortest guy on UNC's entire roster last year.

I know. He may be one of those 5-11 3/4" dudes. 03-lmfao

Pulling a Davis Mills at the measuring stick to try to not be too Baker Mayfield-y too early in the process 03-lmfao

I’ve never understand all the hype with him. He’s been a solid college QB, but not great and I do not see him translating at the next level. Idk whenever I watch UNC on TV the brand looks soft as hell.
Forgive me guys it's been so long since I've thrown a football but isn't the Pro ball a bit narrower than the college ball? If so, I wonder how that translates to Des with those 10 inch hands? I know it still mainly boils down to arm mechanics and footwork but you'd think he could really grip and spin a pro ball.
Joe Burrow received a little criticism for his hand size (9")

No, the NFL football just looks that way because it has no stripes.

I think Jon Kitna probably had the record for smallest hands in the NFL.

I'd love to see the Bengals at least pick one Bearcat. I wonder how often that happens overall (NFL team picks college player that played in same city). Seems like they would have them well scouted
I'd like to see them get Cook or Bryant. You can never have too many able bodies on the defense. Also a guy like Curtis Brooks who's never mentioned in the draft updates, would be good too.

Out of curiosity
Bengals have drafted 8 UC Players
Steelers have drafted 48 Pitt Players (but 40 of them were prior to 1980 and most of those 40 were pre 1950)
Patriots have drafted 13 players from BC
Philadelphia has drafted 7 guys from Temple
Atlanta has drafted 5 guys from Georgia Tech
Tampa Bay has taken 0 players from USF
The Vikings have drafted 19 players from the University of Minnesota
Houston Oilers/Texans have drafted 7 UH Cougars
Dallas has drafted 5 players from SMU
New Orleans has drafted 7 from the Green Wave
Arizona has taken only 2 from the University of Arizona
Seattle has taken 11 Washington Huskies

I'm sure quite a few guys from UCLA and USC have been taken by Los Angeles NFL franchises over the years. It doesn't seem like most NFL teams take too many players from universities in their own city.
