The Chargers do not have a lot of depth on the OL and Weaver is versatile. I think he has a good chance on the practice squad. Smartt might be a practice squad guy also if he can show blocking ability to play TE. Remember, the Chargers were the first to convert a basketball player to TE, Antonio Gates. An uphill climb for Young I believe.

Gates was the best tight end in the NFL at the time. He made me some $$ in fantasy league. Smartt will have a hard time living up to that legacy.

I agree about Weaver. NFL teams love stashing versatile OL players on the practice squad.

Was hopeful Pasquantino would get the call up and we’d have 6 at same time. But with Connor hurt and Higgins replacing an injured Contreras, who knows what will happen by the time Connor is healed.
