Will take a while to see if they land on a practice squad. There will be a lot of final moves made in the next couple of days.

Cox and Ward will definitely make the practice squads. Fulgham is probably 50/50.
Does Fulgham have a problem contractually since he was drafted and not a UDFA? Meaning, is he more expensive to teams than Cox or Ward would be?

He is same as any other free agent. Doesn't matter whether he was drafted or not. Once his contract is terminated and he is released, there are no restrictions. All he has to be paid is the minimum.

One caveat, if he is claimed off waivers, then that team acquires his existing contract. However, it seems very unlikely he will be claimed off waivers, and he will just become what we call a "street free agent."

It is confirmed. Cox was signed to Broncos practice squad and Tim Ward signed to Chiefs practice squad. No word yet on Fulgham. No announcements yet on Eagles practice squad.

Eagles just announced Fulgham was signed to practice squad. So, four Monarchs on the 53 and three on practice squads.

This is where it is confusing.
First, I don't know what his contract was with the Lions.
He was waived by the Lions and picked up by the Packers.
Then waived by the Packers and picked up by the Eagles.
Then waived by the Eagles and signed to the practice squad.

If he had a multi-year contract with the Lions, is that still in effect at this point, or would it be if he had a multi-year contract with the Lions?
I guess I'm trying to understand where the break is from acquiring the existing contract and becoming a "street free agent".

When a contract is claimed off waivers then it remains in existence. That contract no longer exists now that Fulgham was waived and not claimed. He was a street free agent this morning and has a new practice squad contract now with the Eagles.

Oh I see. Thanks. The break was after the Eagles waived him and nobody else claimed him. Practice squad signings do not carry a contract forward. But prior to that last cut, his original Lions contract was still valid when the Packers and Eagles claimed him.
Giants release first depth chart. Ximines listed as 1st team OLB.

Yes but the prior contract was just a minimum contract any way. Sixth rounders get a small signing bonus with just minimum annual salaries for the first 4 years.
Blast From the Past...not pro ball specific, but I am about to meet with Eddie McClam. If I recall, doesn't he hold or share several NCAA records for blocked kicks or something like that. He is now the college and career counselor at Oakton High School in Fairfax County.

I'm not watching the Giants/Steelers game, but just took a peak at the ESPN box score. His name is nowhere to be found under the stats for tackles. Hard to believe if he is a starter that he has no tackles yet.
Ximines was totally ineffective when he did play. After he was pancaked near the half, I don't think he's played since. Don't know if he was hurt.

Update: back in during mop-up. I guess he was just benched.
He won't be playing pro ball, but ODU alum, Corey Evans just got himself an NBA gig.

Watching the Middle Tenn vs Troy and noticed Shuler Bentley is on the coach staff for Troy

Seemed like a nice guy, good for him.
Pascal with a TD catch. X man not impressing so far this year.

Pascal should get more playing time/targets with Paris Campbell out a while.

X had a tackle for loss. He did get the start yesterday. Otherwise you're right.

I’m no Saints fan but I’ll take a crappy day by Drew Brees over half of the NFL QBs best days.
Some things are happening in the Eagles and Broncos camps.

WR Reagor just had surgery. The Eagles signed a 3rd WR to the practice squad so one of them is likely to be added to the 53 man roster in the next day or so.

There is an injury to RB Lindsay of the Broncos. The Broncos protected 4 players on their practice squad and one was RB Bellamy. If they add a RB to the 53 man roster, it could be Cox and that's why they "protected" Bellamy.

Keep tuned in to the wires.
