I know every program has ups and downs but come on what are we getting by adding 5k seats with a minimum price tag of 70 Mil if that's the case add some ****** bleachers to the current one save pain for fundraising wing. I think we will go atleast 30K if we decide to build one and at that point we would be putting more butts in seats than any other 30 k stadium
We are getting shiny new toilets... that is the argument I heard a few months back on why we need to spend $70 on a new stadium that barely changes capacity.

It's amazing to me... How little some people understand about what it takes to build a successful program.

At what point did you think it would always be smooth sailing? I could have corrected that misconception then.

I don't understand how any ODU fan can be anything other than thrilled and optimistic with the state of the athletic program.

Exactly makes no sense to drop a huge pile of cash for almost nothing

I'm thrilled about it. Do you how much I would love to see ODU pounce on VT and win the revenge match against UNC?
This past season just looked like no effort was created. The entire team was garbage.

If I didn't care, I wouldn't comment. I'd keep my nose in PA.
You guys need to get a grip. You're talking like 25,000 is a done deal. If you talk about something long enough, with enough certainty, it becomes fact (politicians learned that long ago). Reality is there has been absolutely no word on stadium size. We the message board intelligencia don't know ANYTHING about what's been planned. So why not stop with all the negative speculation and wait for some FACTS before all the gnashing of teeth and complaining.

Absolutely agree with this. Thus far, football at ODU has gone first class in every respect. When we were FCS for the foreseeable future, we built a game day building that rivals any in that subdivision. The Hill sports complex was eye popping by FCS standards. Since the opportunity presented itself, and WS and Prez JB had vision, we jumped into the FBS field with top notch FCS amenities. Now we have to upgrade the facilities as we upgraded the level of competition. Facilities that need to be upgraded both for the fan and the recruit. I have no doubt that ODU will do it like they've done everything else in this respect, first class.

I expect no less from the practice addition to the Ted.

I'm worried about the team that will call it home.
People will get tired of coming to see a losing team.
I have no faith in Wood or his football staff.
I found it interesting that once Wood left WKU, they started winning again.

Time for your Prozac.
You boys really hate reality.
I'm gonna continue to call it as I see it. I said no bowl game and lookie at what happened.
Sorry ass coaching.
With BW behind the wheel, ODU won't compete and will continue to lose and lose even more recruits to other colleges.

Bashing my every comment ain't gonna make our program better.
I'm a realist. ODU better not spend that money on a stadium, but I guess on Saturdays during the fall the crickets will need a new place to be entertained.
How come people who are super negative always call themselves realists? In believe the correct word is pessimist.

If you truly care then take some time to study the process and what has been accomplished in a short period of time.
This has turned into the comments section of the pilot.

yeah, I'm out of here as soon as people start talking about how ODU should drop football and devote the resources on academics.

I used to believe that the Letters To The Editor was a place for the residents of the area to show their ignorance to the public, but the internet comments section makes the old Letters section look like a scholarly gathering.
I want a new football stadium.

I know that. The team is losing and now the players are leaving. 5 players left this week. What do you do when there are no players?

Players leaving has nothing to do with a new football stadium. Players are not leaving because the team went 5-7, players are leaving for more playing time. You and those saying there will be no new stadium need to get a grip.

You know this happens at literally every single FBS school right? Because your post makes it seem like you don't. Your post makes it seem like you think 5 kids transferring out means we're not getting a new stadium or something and that just strikes me as really, really odd.
BUT HOW CAN WE FIELD A TEAM?
