Peach Bowl was the most watched of the non-Playoff New Year's Six bowls. So much for people not caring about G5 teams.
Over 8 million viewers. Right behind UCF's two NY6 bowls. All three better than Boise's CFP era Fiesta.
Per ESPN, it's the most watched G5 vs P5 NY6 in CFP era. So it beats out UCF vs Auburn and UCF vs LSU. I think UCF had more viewers for their game against Baylor though
Edited to add - I finally got to the ESPN PR press release. 8.72 million viewers across all MegaCast Platforms -- the showbuzzdaily number below would be from the main ESPN network only
Hmmmm...the sportsmediawatch article says 8.72 million viewers
https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2021/01...iewership/
It doesn't annotate an update, but I originally read it as in keeping with the showbuzzdaily number of 8.311 million viewers.

Others:
UCF-LSU 8.471 million
UCF-Auburn 8.377 million
Boise-Arizon 7.406 million
Memphis-PSU 6.22 million
Houston-FSU 5.604 million
WMU-Wisconsin 5.442 million

BCS-era UCF-Baylor was 11.3 million
I'll happily mea culpa if this year's final number is the higher.
Either way, AAC in the NY6 are #1-3, and #5-6 of non-contract-bowl-conference teams in CFP NY6 bowls.
Edited to add:
In keeping with Mandel's point, 2020 non-semi-final NY6 games:
Peach Bowl Cincinnati vs UGA 8.xx million viewers
Orange Bowl UNC vs Texas A&M 7.58 million
Fiesta Bowl ISU vs Oregon 6.68 million
Cotton Bowl UF vs Oklahoma 5.77 million
