Thats me. Id take him back in an instant. But we arent eating 8 or 9 million to opt out of 3 more long years of Dana. I think Dana will be here for at least 2 more years. So---lets just hope Dana starts giving a crap cuz I have a sneaking suspicion Dana's heart just isnt 100% committed to doing the work required to get to 9-12 win seasons anymore.
I suspect Houston football is getting Lebo'd.

I’m going to be extremely shocked if Houston shows any interest in Herman again... I for one don’t care for Herman anymore so no thanks.

No worries there. LTH pissed off the wrong BMD. He won’t ever get any job at UH again. As he so famously put it after leaving Houston for Texas, he will have to make chicken Salad out of chicken shite somewhere else.
I wish him nothing but the worst though.

to be fair though Texas is viewed as the pinnacle of college football. not sure many would turn it down. after all they have families too. i just wish he did it in a more professional way instead right after a game and then left them with no staff to play in their bowl. glad he got shafted the way he did.

Herman's only incentive is to rebuild his rep somewhere to get back on the big horse again. Not sure he even does that any time soon, and if he does, it won't be at Houston.
The same reason he tried to jump ship from Texas to a lower South Carolina job last year, likely giving up millions
It was only 2-3 years ago people were saying he could be one of the all time great coaches ever.. like his mentor urban Meyer
To think he’d accept being a has been as his legacy 2 years later just because money is not knowing him at all.
If we wanted him we could get him...
It is us who has to decide if we want him or not
There is doubt if he can replicate his success again (similar to sumlin) and heavy trust issues on our end, as he told us 1thing and secretly did another when we left
That makes no sense. Last year, he didn't have a $15M buyout in his pocket. He knew his ship was sinking at Texas. But I think he would be a LOT pickier now.
We'll see.

you missed my point; if he left before he was fired he wouldnt get a single cent of buyout money, buyout money is only if they fire you.. he was willing to give up 15mil for a lesser job
herman is only 45, his goal isnt a cash grab or vacation
and if he'd come to houston, the same reason he chose houston the 1st time (he had numerous p5 offers when he took the houston job, ohio state had just won the national title and he was the OC)..recruiting ground and resources ..no other power house is going to hire him
also not to see... we dont want him; we arent getting rid of dana, and its unlikely we want herman as it ended on a sour note with our admin..so not sure how we'll see

I didn't miss your point. I just don't agree with it. Maybe he would have taken that SC job, maybe not. But it's irrelevant, b/c now it's different.
I'm saying right NOW with $15M in his pocket, he's not necessarily going any damn where. Not SC. Not Houston. He doesn't have to do jack.
With $15M in your pocket, your priorities change. Neither of us has any clue what he might do next. I'm just saying he has 15 million reasons to do nothing, or anything he wants. Don't assume it includes Houston or anywhere else.
YOU said Houston could get Herman back if they wanted him. As usual, you are wrong. You don't know that.

He can sit out 2021 and wait for P5 desperation in Dec.
