Not only that, but neither one of those programs have yet to win or even get invited to the Bahamas Bowl.

Murray brought up bowl games, not back-to-back seasons.
Without being too much of a smartass, I'm pretty sure you know how to use google and Wiki...let us know what you find.
RE: A LOT of bowl games, yes starting with 1 (Rose Bowl) in 1923. I'd counter with there were fewer teams as well.
"As of 2016 there are 774 colleges and universities that play football, a number which increases by about 5 teams each year. 130 of those teams are FBS."

Sooo we should expect to wait 40 Years? Maybe 400 since we aren't VT or Alabama? What about those schools that made it in their first year? Should we set that as the expectation instead? How do we choose which irrelevant historical fact to use here?
A- Do none of you people know how to use the google machine? How old are y'all?
B- We don't have to wait, we've already been to a bowl game.
C- By any measure, we are no longer in our first year of FBS football. How do you set the expectation for a period that has already passed?
D- Facts are only irrelevant when you don't agree with them.

Id just like to be trending upward. We've been going downhill ever since our bowl win with the FCS guys.

Nice attempt at a deflection. Not really. But, the fact remains that your point lacked any gravity. Could you please explain the relevance of it taking Alabama 40 years a century ago to get to bowl game? Wouldn't it be more relevant to compare us to GA Southern, App State, Ga State, Charlotte... maybe even USF, UCF, UMASS, Marshall???
D - Facts are not relevant just because you stated them.

Hold up....did you just tell me my post lacked the appropriate gravitas for an internet fan-forum?
The Alabama/VT thing is centered around a string of posts where a particularly negative and grumpy poster complained repeatedly that we should strive to be like those schools. Find me a post where one of The Annointed says we need to be more like UMass and I'm in.
D- That blade also cuts both ways.
7?- Go find some some facts you think are relevant to or for those schools and post here for the rest of us to laugh at.

I voted he's on the hot seat, because that's the reality of the situation today. Wood says we need to raise coaches salaries? I don't think that will be for current coaches though. If we have a year like I think we might....new blood is coming.

The 2019 Official Fire Coach Wilder Thread. Anniversary Edition.
Well apparently Wilder is on ESPN's coaches hot seat. I think ODU wants field performance. If we don't finished .500, BW is gone. Our program was not founded on failure. We are a winning program. The university just built a stadium. You think they want to see it empty by halftime every home game? Wood Selig was talking field performance. During his last interview by Ed Miller. They think they are prepared to bring in and pay more to a coach with FBS experience.

RE: The 2019 Official Fire Coach Wilder Thread. Anniversary Edition.
Thanks to everyone who voted and offered their input. It looks like the majority of us don't want the coach fired if the team has a losing season this year.
We can analyze every aspect of Wilder's performance, but there was only one issue that has caused the most damage to this program .... not choosing the right QB from the start. Last year, win one of the first 3 games with the correct QB choice (Larussa) then go into the Rice game with something to play for and win that game, boom! we're 6-6.
"I think David Washington is the most explosive quarterback in Conference USA," coach Bobby Wilder said. He said this in 2016, the year after he crowned Shuler Bentley the 4 year starter. So he knew who the best QB was 2015 but started Shuler anyway.
And if you don't believe that our coaches pitched that 4 year **** to Shuler,
“One of the big reasons I came here was I knew, through recruiting, that I had the opportunity to redshirt and then be the starter for four years, and that’s one of the things I worked for my whole redshirt year,” Bentley said.
How about Steven Williams?
After benching Larussa and Hoy with 2 wins in their pockets, here are the acollades for Stevey after a 2 quarter audition when the game was already decided and UNC was just going through the motions,
“We haven’t developed an identity on offense,” said Wilder following the loss. “We didn’t really have an identity against Albany, or UMass. We were defense, special teams (oriented), and Stevey Williams gave us an identity on offense.”
“Our best days are ahead with Stevey Williams at quarterback,” said Wilder.
lol
All across the nation, colleges and universities are naming their starting QB's and yes, VT just named theirs.
I hope Wilder makes the right choice before the VT game.

Lol totally! I don't think Stevey Williams will start. They have been trying to utilize him in other positions I do believe it was wide receiver. I feel like Messiah is going to get the starting position.

I’ve read nothing to make me think it will be anyone other than Smart who will start against NSU. SW might win the long battle to be starter, but I expect Smartt will get the keys to start the season. We’ll see.

I think the game will start with two QBs on the field, with Williams being one of them and Smartt being the other. Smartt will be at QB, and Williams will be at WR.

You may be right, but according to Brian Scott our 2-Deep at qb is Smartt, deWeaver. There was no indication given of how much space there is between the two.

Who becomes QB can be anybody's guess. Wilder is the genius who picked Bentley over Washington and Stevie over Larussa so pump your brakes, we shouldn't be surprised to see if Spencer/Wolffe steps on the filed slinging the ball.
