Mississippi, Moo and Arkansas, are NOT Florida.
Indiana is not Michigan.
Boston College is not Clemson.
If we could get a home and home we do it, think UCLA.
But where for the above reasons I would not play less than home and home with a lot of schools, there are a handful I would, and given the opportunity, we should.
Mississippi wants to start acting like they are Notre Dame, let them try. Our Mississippi and Tennessee trolls will just have to love with the fact they do not bring what an Oklahoma would. And if we could, would love to play OK home and home. But would gladly travel to Norman twice to get the, here once. We are not Oklahoma guys. Period. Nor is UCF Florida. Nor was Florida State Oklahoma back in the day. They are now. They played.
We have no more leverage with Mississippi and Tennessee than UCF has over Florida. We play Ole Miss one more time next year, and then there are no more games in the foreseeable future and there is nothing on the books with UT. We have an upcoming home and home with Mississippi State; and after that series is over, its Sun Belt City. Our upcoming pitiful schedule is not the result of an inability to get games, however, but the result of wanting to load up on wins against a bunch of cupcakes.
Houston has upcoming home and home series with Oklahoma, Tx Tech, Washington State, Vanderbilt, Boise State, Kansas, BYU, Colorado and Utah.
Cincinnati has home and homes with UCLA, Ohio State, Nebraska, Indiana, Pitt, Boise State
East Carolina has home and homes with NC State, Virginia Tech, Boise State, South Carolina, Wake Forest and West Virginia
UCONN will have h/h series with Purdue, NC State, Indiana, Illinois and Boston College.
We, on the other hand, have Southern, South Alabama, Georgia State, Louisiana Monroe, Troy, Mississippi State... and then two single games @ Purdue and Ole Miss. Pitiful.
UCF and Memphis should never agree to play a 2/1 with anyone because once they do, they cut the legs out of conference members who have the desire to schedule home and homes with P5 programs.
