The time for vigilance is perpetually "now". Any deviation from that leaves you subject to sabotage, like not looking into foreign nationals wanting to learn to pilot commercial property jets but not sticking around to learn how to land one. That was reported too, and ignored by W's administration.

To have a secure nation you need secure borders, active intelligence operations inside and outside of the U.S. which we have respective agencies to do, and none of them should be subject to political changes but only the security of the people and the Constitution.

That we have federal funding going to Universities whose professors are openly Marxist, or anti-American is unforgivable because the easiest way to enforce a pro-American, pro Constition view in academia is pull their damn funding when they violate our norms, laws, process, and way of life.

I'd be all for deporting the Marxists and Maoists we have here, but what communist country wants whiny, knownothing, slugs for citizens? Hell, even serious commies have standards!07-coffee3

The best way to protect the 1st amendment-is to destroy the first amendment. Excellent reasoning.

Marxism is antithetical to every tenet of a Capitalistic free market society. People can criticize our policies and propose alternatives, but they have to be held to the standard of constitutionality. There is no right to sow anarchy and tout enslavement. Freedom of speech ends when somebody orders violence against citizens, which is exactly what Biden's administration turned a blind eye to with BLM activities and Antifa's activities in American cities. The right of citizens to protection under the law of their person and property cannot be sacrificed to the ranting of anarchists. They should have called out the guard and shot the looters on sight, if they could not safely arrest them.

What you suggest is a perversion. You must first protect the citizens and their rights to protect freedom of speech. No group or individual has the right to attack his neighbor. That's a crime, not free speech.

That’s rich. I’m responding to videos posted in this thread, that people are lying and saying they are in reaction to the US invasion today. That is the topic.

Should we align more with our Central and South American brethren over Europe? Yes

Should we turn them into future Americans? Absolutely not.

None of it is nation building. All of it in the South China Sea and Southern Pacific, in the Ukraine and potentially Europe, and in the Caribbean, Central and South America is the establishment of an active sphere of influence for the use of raw materials, defense of all peoples in those regions, and what is going to be 3 spheres of control by the Super-Powers.

Reject it or oppose it and we are in for WWIII. Utilize it and WWIII may be avoided for a few more decades. The United States is not going to tolerate Chinese or Russian influences in our sphere of control, and they will not tolerate ours.

Think of the U.N. being the NCAA, and all FCS and lower tier FBS countries will do their own thing but within the sphere of the Upper tier. And this will happen for defense (protection of markets and resources) and to help the most powerful protect their resources. Responsibility through it will be upon the Superpower to enhance the standard of living throughout their sphere of influence and that is in their self-interest because doing so will eliminate much of any potential threat if the vast majority of people lead improved lives.

Do that in all 3 spheres of influence and the chance for peace exists, at least until one feels they have taken the technological advantage.

You can call me a pessimist or simply a realist but avoiding WWIII right now should be the globes priority. We all lose if it breaks out and the extant forces are there for it to ignite.

Can someone explain what is going on, Trump and Rubio are saying the Vice President of Venezuela is cooperating with the US and was sworn in as the official leader. The Vice President of Venezuela just gave a speech saying Venezuela is ready to mobilize the entire country to defend itself against the US and that Maduro is the only President of Venezuela.

I'm old enough to remember people in Iraq initially being very happy when Saddam fell. What happened today is far less important than what happens now that we've created a power vacuum there. Did we actually learn a single lesson from the failures every other time we've attempted this? Hope so. I don't actually want this to become the next decades long boondoggle, so for once I hope Neocons actually turn out to be right about the aftermath of what happens when you do this.

You post fully states what is going on in this world today. The problem with that one of the three countries are free people with the ability to voice disagreement without fear of government making them disappear. That's why I believe Trump is the 100% correct person at this time in history to be the American President.

Trump seems to see the overall big picture of China and Russia and understands China is the biggest threat to America. Most politicians would not do what Trump just did in fear of blowback. This is not about country building or even drug flow (for the most part)....

its about stabilizing a country in our sphere and stopping China from gaining a influence. A lot of people, on both sides , that could have been president, even if they understood the big picture. Would not have made this move....because of politics optics

I just heard an explanation on Fox. Yes indeed, the US is, for now, allowing the remaining members of the Venezuelan Government to remain in place to prevent creating a giant void in leadership, as the transition begins.

If they act up, they will get the Maduro treatment. If not, and they keep things in place until we get a new government in there, then fine.

Under any circumstances they aren't going to like us, but they have no choice.

Their first task is to cut ties with Russia, China, North Korea and Iran.

I think the VP is playing both sides of the fence. I think it's a risky choice. We'll see.

Quote:Venezuelans worldwide celebrate as exiles react to Maduro’s capture
Joyful crowds gathered in Miami, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Madrid after Maduro capture
By Michael Dorgan Fox News
Published January 3, 2026 3:07pm EST

Venezuelans across the globe took to the streets after the capture of Nicolás Maduro, whose rule was marked by economic collapse and mass migration out of the oil-rich nation.

Venezuelans in Miami, Fla., Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Madrid, Spain, donned Venezuela’s national colors and waved flags hours after President Donald Trump announced that Maduro and his wife had been flown out of the country following an overnight U.S. military operation.

In Miami, Venezuelans danced and cheered, with celebrations also taking place outside Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Fla. In Doral, Fla., revelers chanted "Liberty!" and draped Venezuelan flags over their shoulders.

Outside the El Arepazo restaurant, a hub of the Venezuelan culture of Doral, one man held a piece of cardboard with "Libertad" scrawled with a black marker. It was a sentiment expressed by other native Venezuelans hoping for a new beginning for their home country as they chanted, "Liberty! Liberty! Liberty!"

"We’re like everybody — it’s a combination of feelings, of course," Alejandra Arrieta, who came to the U.S. in 1997, told The Associated Press.

"There’s fears. There’s excitement," he said. "There’s so many years that we’ve been waiting for this. Something had to happen in Venezuela. We all need the freedom."

Ecstatic crowds also gathered in Santiago, Chile, where one child held a sign reading "Somos Libres," meaning, "We Are Free."

The demonstrations reflected the scale of Venezuela’s diaspora, which has grown dramatically during Maduro’s years in power, as millions fled what critics describe as a period of economic collapse marked by hyperinflation and widespread food shortages.

Since 2017, roughly 8 million people have fled Venezuela, making it one of the world’s largest displacement crises, according to the U.N. Refugee Agency.

More than 6.9 million Venezuelans are currently hosted in Latin American and Caribbean countries, while hundreds of thousands more live in the United States and Europe, where diaspora communities have remained politically active and closely engaged with events back home.

Maduro has been in power since 2013, when he succeeded longtime Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez following Chávez’s death, presiding over a period marked by economic decline, political unrest and mass migration.

Not all reactions to the U.S. action were celebratory.

Protests both in favor of and against the strikes have been scheduled in Buenos Aires and other cities across the region, underscoring deep divisions over Venezuela’s future and Washington’s role in the crisis.

In Greece, members of the Greek Communist Party demonstrated against Maduro’s capture.
