I haven't proposed anything that infringes on the second amendment. Nothing about a gun storage law infringes on your right to buy or own a gun.

I'm simply looking at real ways to stop the flow of guns to criminals. Stolen guns is a massive source of illegal guns. If we secure the legal guns and slow the flow of stolen guns to criminals then as criminals are arrested and their guns seized then the number of guns in the hands of criminals is reduced.

So my gun is secured.. Locked safe and all.. Someone breaks into my house and somehow hauls my safe away (it's happened).. They break into the safe and commit a crime with one of my guns.. I'm responsible?

Because they're mentally ill by definition.

They keep harping on treating mental illness yet they can't recognize one when it is literally jumping out at them in its obviousness.

To be mentally ill:

They must be:
Christian
White
Male
Leans conservative

Bonus points if they supported Trump.

Ohhhh, I get it now. Because all the criminals caught with illegal guns now ALWAYS end up off the streets forever and never again have an opportunity to obtain another illegal gun, whether it be a black market item whose origins cant reliably be traced or not. Right?

Most countries don’t need armed security in their schools. Most countries don’t need to modify their schools to secure the front entrance. Most countries don’t need to install hardened classroom doors so teachers can lock down their classroom.

The problem we are dealing with is mostly an American one.

Oh frick off with this bullshite. Move.

How many school shootings are in other counties vs USA?

This is an American problem that basically doesn’t exist in other countries or is once a decade and not multiple times a year.

Yes and no.

We could probably reduce the number of casualties by getting rid of guns, but then the assailants just use other means. Not to mention that bad guys will have guns for decades while the law abiding citizens will be the only ones disarmed, and that would create chaos. Oh yeah, and there's that 2nd amendment.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-59916035

So, we really need to focus on mental health and keeping weapons out of the hands of those who are unstable, which is a very difficult thing to do.

The idea of being able to get rid of guns is just a brain dead idea. What was the number? 100 million? 500 million? And how many does Mexico have? We can't keep people or drugs from crossing the border. What makes anyone think we can prevent guns? The gun ban people are just beyond idiotic.

Back home, we have 4 county schools. They got a budget and hired 4 retired LEOs that patrol the grounds. It's not much but it's enough to make it worth their while. Most of the LEOs have grandchildren that attend the schools or their kids are teachers there...

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-59916035

So, we really need to focus on mental health and keeping weapons out of the hands of those who are unstable, which is a very difficult thing to do.

We need a secure storage law. If you keep your gun where your kid can get it, or in your glove box where it can get stolen then you face criminal charges if it is used. If it isn’t on your person it needs to be stored in an approved and locked container.

We need universal health care that includes mental health.

If I have a gun in my car under my seat and someone breaks the window and steals it I'm liable for criminal charges? What if they steal the car and use it in the commission of a crime, do I go to jail for that as well? Sorry but this is a non starter for me. If someone breaks in to my locked house or locked car then you hold them responsible for their actions not me. I don't want someone such as you determining what is the proper way to store my weapons. If someone is breaking into my house I need quick access.

They make quick access safes that can be cabled to the structure of the home. They make quick access drawer safes that can hold an AR or shotgun under your bed.

They make punch code safes that are custom fit to a lot of trucks. They make small containers that bolt to the seat bolts under the seats.

Yes, if you leave a gun in your backseat and it gets stolen and used in a crime you should be criminally liable.

You guys keep saying "Law abiding gun owners aren't the problem", which in a lot of cases is true. So law abiding gun owners need to take responsibility for their guns and keep them out of the hands of criminals.

So someone breaks in to my house or car, steals a gun and because I didn't have it locked in an approved safe I get to go to jail. That is nonsense not to mention you are making me spend money to prevent someone from stealing my property and using it to commit a criminal act. Do I have to lock up my knives as well? What about my hammers?
If drop it in public or leave it in a public place then you have a point but not when it is in my home or my car. I don't go to jail if someone steals my car and uses it to commit a crime.

Thank you, Tiger. The media and the Communists will try to blame Christianity, Republicans, Lawful gun owners, et cetera...the truth is this is but yet another example that the Leftist/"progressive" and communist ideologies are a complete and utter failure and don't work ever. But, to use the White House logic then, in light of the political and sexual identity of the culprit, we must ban all so-called transgender' people and their supporters from buying guns. Anyone who supports so-called 'transgenderism' is a party to these murders and should be held accountable.

Throughout our country's long history and before, many people, children even have had and responsibly used guns and weapons. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the guns, not a thing, but there IS something absolutely wrong with those who do not believe in the rule of Law or the Constitution as written, not as made-up by far-left activist judges and un-elected administrators and bureaucrats. Like preaching to an athiest using quotes from the Bible, or preaching to a non-izzylame using quotes from the querran, passing more laws and regulations against law-abiding gun-owners does nothing to stop those who don't care to follow the law.

We also need to call out disorder where we see it the way we used to. There is no such thing as a 'trans community' there IS such a thing as Trans Disorder, and it is a mental illness that needs to be treated not with muh pharmaceuticals but with traditional therapy recognizing it is out of balance with universal truth and understanding and nothing else.

Again, why does no one in the media talk about the Father of this woman and her family situation? Because they don't want to admit the truth. When you go against truth, it is true that you will be held accountable by truth eventually. Five to one, one to five, no one here gets out alive, dynamite and swings, brilliant things.

It doesn't matter if it your gun is on the kitchen table. You are NOT RESPONSIBLE for someone else breaking the law.
