No?
Look at our transfers - a bunch of nothings minus Cox. The RBs are in some kind of revolt, that isn’t normal, but for the most part these kids aren’t finding better places to play. This first year of the portal is going to be a good lesson.
Rodgers & Cox improved. The rest of the kids not really…and some might not have chairs when the music stops. Waylee is going to be interesting.
Maybe you can help me understand...what kind of revolt are these RBs involved in? NIU has consistently ran the ball more than most teams in the country. Touches have not been an issue and won't be an issue going forward. So I'm having a hard time understanding why RBs are leaving at a record pace.
Anyways. The show goes on! Go Huskies.

I don't have an idea to be honest. I don't think they should be leaving, in this era of college football (or any football for that matter) I would think you would want to land with a team who carries the ball.
All of them leaving makes zero sense on the field and football fit wise. No clue why they are leaving.

I think you take these individually and not try to make a group scenario. Waylee left to not split carries. Credel IDK. Blakemore and Kellman were barely going to see any reps.

Kelllman went to Charlotte, the new coach is his old HS coach. He went to a BIG TIME HS football school, St Francis out of Baltimore. Charlotte has recruited 5 transfers so far who were St Francis graduates. Blakemore picked a good program and will get the opportuinty for carries. Of all the backs that left, I feel the least concern about is Credel, dont feel he is strong enough to carry the rock and will be injury prone.

I don't recall us ever recruiting a TE that is so obviously more skilled receiving than blocking. We have usually had more blocker types who developed into receivers. Over the years it has not been our strongest position, but in our offense it's a key spot.
6-5, 205 LBS? Gotta think he's headed to WR.
He's heavier than that, he is definitely a TE. Look at his highlight and the routes he runs, he also does not have the quickness or sppeed to play outside. He will be great if we can catch the ball in the middle of the field.

247 has him at 205. American River CC listed him at 210 on their roster. So maybe he comes here at 210-215? That's still not TE weight.

Impressive…this guy is ranked #1 out of 2. Sucks to be that other guy!
All joking aside (well the #1 out of 2 thing isn’t a joke…that’s for real) Hammock has focused on TE this recruiting cycle and this kid is still a nice find. Big kid who can catch. You can probably cross off the other transfer TEs.

Great post 81!
I counted 40 recruits - 6 decommitts for a net 34. Isnt that a large number to bring in? IMO, it is the best OL ine group in a long time. A couple of them have a HIGH ceiling. The other highlites to me so far.........Dingle can run the ball....a TE that is a known quanity cathching the ball with some reach. Some really athletic edge recruits in Baynes,Randall and Sanders. We are lacking in skills on the outside,,,,CBs, and WRs....we just dont really know until they get here.

Agree.... does not have the speed to play outside. TE/Hback. Blocker with some receiving skills.

I know we will have a better understanding tomorrow but have we seemingly beaten out any “bigger competition” on some of these players?
Once upon a time I assumed some of our under ranked/ under recruited guys were just that and would prove out over time. Now, With the exception of Rudolph I just don’t see that happening.

Jimmar at one point had a Syracuse and Kansas offer
Mack had a Syracuse offer
Randall had a Syracuse offer
I mean Syracuse is probably one of those schools that offers everyone though.
So to answer your question, not really. Bunch of OK players. Doesn’t mean they are bad. Probably Hammock’s worst full class on paper. But, I don’t think we can say for a few seasons. The linemen look good. The hybrid DBs could be good. Kidd could be the QB of the future? We don’t really know. On paper meh, but paper doesn’t play games.

Agreed these ratings can be a crap shoot, My thought was just until we start finding some of this diamonds in the rough it’ll be nice to be winning on paper.
I remember beating out some big 10 teams for Aregeros Turner and getting Huff to pass on NC state back in the day. Now that maybe a thing of the past because of NIL but it would be nice to have one or 2 of those mixed into these classes since paper is all we’ve got right now.

Jimmar and Mack have high upside. If they can play, they will be really good.

So far everything has been very underwhelming on the recruiting front and just football in general. Even a coaching change would be more exciting than what has happened so far. Sad we can’t land a P5 guy looking for playing time.
