New AAC Map
Unless navy is forced to move to the east division it looks like Memphis will be moved east.

With this round of realignment, I would just pause on worrying about divisions. I'd be surprised if the division requirement for conference championship games will still be in place by the time the SEC starts playing with UT and OU at 16 members.

They’ll still do divisions it will just be further separated into pods. The SEC will make their own playoff where the pod champions play each other but the division champions get home field. Then the winner of that first round goes to the sec championship.

Yeah, that sucks. You can clearly see how the divisions should be aligned. Memphis should be in the West with UAB as the crossover partner.

Maybe it'll only be that way for football and in other sports Memphis will be East with WSU tsking Navy's spot in the West.

If that is how it ends up the league should compensate Memphis somehow.

Map lines up rather nicely, almost a clean East/west spilt with Memphis & Tulane in middle. Seems to be several travel partner pairings as well that should help out travel costs of Olympic sports.

Crazy to think that in the conference that is still the non-profit corporation formerly known as the Big East, Navy and Temple are the geographic outliers.

It will compensate Memphis via lots of body bag conference basketball games against schools the rest of the country will need that map to find.

You could also do North/South. Draw a smile between Tulsa and North Texas and that's an evenly divided 7 schools on each side as well.

If we could figure away to add VCU and St. Louis for basketball only it would be great

This is exactly what will happen. Aresco realizes it isn't about the competition you play for most G5 teams, it is about their record. Think Coastal Carolina.

SMU on one side, Memphis on the other. The goal is the AAC has 2 brand names, ideally undefeated to that point, playing championship week to get the G5 auto bid. It is pretty smart imo.

Probably the same limit as the number of blue teams.

Fun fact: Ancient civilizations including the Greeks didn't distinguish blue from green. They considered blue to be a darker shade of green.

There is a lot of angst and dismay on Temple's message boards. A lot of their fans want out.

I'm sure ODU and Marshall are ready whenever Temple wants to go.

..where to? I guess the ol' "MAC in f-ball only" with everything else in the Big East is the goal... eh, might work for them, if the MAC is willing... somehow it seems the MAC is immune from realignment, and seems to be uninterested in partaking in it... ...and didn't Temple and the MAC have a somewhat acrimonious 'breakup'???

Makes more sense to just do geographic. If you carve up divisions based on who is good this week, then it's stale next week.
