Walking the walk by actually trying to reduce tensions on both sides would seem to me to be far more useful than ramping up tensions.

You haven't been looking. I posted a yahoo article a couple of months ago about it, and ran across this one as well.
Police ride-alongs, meetings with politicians & law enforcement officials, and on and on:

Maybe now that he's got some dough he could spread it around where it might actually do some good?

I think it's something like this:

Boycott In-N-Out Burger: Stupid snowflakes, you only draw attention to that which you hate!

Boycott Nike: The wrath of 65-year-old white guys shall bring the corporate power to its knees!

But haven't sussed out just yet how it cripples Nike to go out and buy new shoes just to have some to burn:

[Image: Burning-Fake-Air-Jordans-and-Nike-Yeezy-2.png]

You know what the biggest difference between boycotts on the left and right?

The ones on the right actually work.

Ask The Dixie Chicks, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target, Delta, and Yeti Coolers.

Then ask Chick-fil-a how effective the left's boycott of them has been.

What left wing collectivists fail to realize is that if they ever actually start to succeed they will inevitably give rise to a far more potent and dangerous collectivism on the right.

Shhhhh, I don't want them knowing about my "collection"!

MARKETING 101 BABY!!!!
Marketing 4201. Don't piss off half of your customers

Again - where is this idea coming from that "half" of Nike's customers are pissed about this?

At the most, I'd guess that around 3-5% of their customer base are actually going to still be pissed off about this the next time they need to buy some shoes or athletic gear enough to choose another brand. The numbers they'll pick up during that time will likely vastly outweigh that.

And that's all you have is a guess. Where is this 3-5% figure coming from? Be honest, you just pulled that out of your backside.

Maybe it is only 5%. On $35 billion we're talking a couple BILLION.

RE: Nike selects Colin Kaepernick for ad campaign
Nike can choose whoever they want to represent their brand.
Based on Nike's choice of Kaepernick and the message they are choosing to send with that choice, I'll assume Nike is choosing to target millennials and the black community with the message...

I and other suburban parents can choose whatever brands we want to purchase. Suburban parents who tend to be more conservative are the buyers for sporting gear for their kids (and themselves) and can buy sporting gear from a number of other brands — UA, Adidas, etc. (I chose Pelican over Yeti when I bought two coolers.)

And there is such a thing as bad PR. It's an absolute falsehood that all Publicity is good Publicity.
Just ask United Airlines or Pepsi with the Kendall Jenner bomb of an ad campaign.

I saw that commercial several times yesterday during college football games. Hadn't seen it once during the Saints game. Maybe cause pro football fans know that he wasn't good when he began taking a knee. He was what borderline third string...

I just saw this fat guy sporting a Kap 69er shirt and it made me wince. I guess some people aren't patriotic...that's how I see it. Like it or not, it dunn't matter.

well that settles it. im sinking all my savings into nike stock. sound economic advice. advanced economic analysis.

Triggered, I see.

Nah, you have to realize the folks doing all the buying are the same folks that jumped out of the market after the Nov 16 election. They aren't the most savvy investors.

Quote:Mayor Ben Zahn is allegedly banning Nike gear from the City of Kenner recreation facilities.

"Under no circumstances will any Nike product or any product with the Nike logo be purchased or used...at any City of Kenner Recreation Facility," the mayor's office said in a memorandum to Parks and Recreation Department Director Chad Pitfield.

The memorandum was circulated on social media, bearing the City of Kenner letterhead and Zahn's signature.

The memo says that. effective immediately, any booster club operating at city recreation facilities must have their purchases of athletic equipment, including clothing or shoes, approved by Pitfield.

Meh, I guess you're not a sports fan. Dallas fans call the 49s the 69s as a derogatory term. I'm sorry I should have explained. I figured the posters on here were smarter than that.

That won't fly. I can just hear the protests from the Leftists, i.e., Socialists in that city.

Oh i'm a sports fan. Just not a Dallas or a 49ers fan. So no I wouldn't know that's what they called them. First I've ever heard of it in my 42 years of living. Since your are from Texas it probably would of made better since for you to explain that little bit of sports trivia for folks on the east coast. Since posters on this board like you are smart and all that.
