Bill gates stole somebody's idea. Behind every great fortune in most cases is a crime. Remember that righties.

The other thing. Most of these ultra rich were born into it. remember that too righties.

Generational wealth can hide alot of problems and mistakes. Yes you can move up classes but your margin for error is slim. Remember that one too.

and last but not least. Too many of my Republican friends were born on third base and act like they hit grand slam.

meanwhile, I had to bunt to get to first and I stole 2nd and now I need the Unions to get a base hit so I can score. We all needed help along the way. Some of us were born with it. Others had to make it happen.

If you're making $85K at 25 years old you're on the right track. That's for damn sure.

I'm sure there is.

How many people in this country however are rich because they were born rich and how many are rich because they worked hard?

Go research it and let me know what you find.

Koch Brothers are Exhibit A.

Bill Gates is another..

Oh.... wait..... nvmd.

Bill Gates inherited $300 million from his father too?

Psst. His father is still alive.

and not to mention, people need to get over the fact that some people, will never be rich, will never be wealthy, will never go to college, and will never make a good living. There is a reason why I am in a really good paying job, making more money that someone working at McDonalds. I'm a better salesman than them, I'm smarter than them, I work harder AND smarter than them.

The world needs ditch diggers. Not every kid needs to go to college.

Someone has to clean the bathrooms at the end of the day.

There will always be poor people. It sucks. I feel for them, but that is the way it always has been and always will be.

You can't prove this. Actually you can quite easily if you're talking about the Kennedy's. They made a killing during prohibition running booze from Canada.

As far as the ULTRA rich go... you're probably mostly right. Thing is, that doesn't really bother me. I'm not really sure why it bothers anybody else. When I was young and dumb I envied other people for things like this and then I grew up and made something out of myself.

The whole rich argument really gets under my skin.

People who make $300,000 to $1,000,000 per year are in the top 0.5% of people nationwide but they are NOT "rich." They work for a living.

The ones everybody seems to be upset about are unbelievably rare.

That whole moronic 1% crap really gets to me because the end result is the heavier taxation of those who work their ass off and produce something. Successful self made folks fall into this category.

RE: Obama: Wealthy Americans Are “Society’s Lottery Winners”.....
http://money.cnn.com/calculator/pf/income-rank/

This is all measured in household income:
Top 1% starts at $400K
Top 5% starts at $360K
Top 10% starts at $149K
Top 20% starts at $104K
Top 30% starts at $82K
Top 50% starts at $52K

So.... for all our Liberal buddies here, where is rich in here?

They say it takes money to make money. If you're smart and you can get to say... top 10% you see that the scale really takes off from there. At that point a lot of people have enough experience, knowledge and capital to start doing their own thing and stop working for the man and start being the man. Hopefully I can pull this off by the time I'm 50 or so... or I could just phone it in the rest of my career and ***** about people that have more than me. 07-coffee3

Exactly. Someone making 300k grand a year is "rich" to the poor slob working as a tree trimmer for 8 bucks an hour, but they aren't lounging on their 125ft ocean yacht partying in Morocco. They are probably working 60 hour days in their "practice" whatever it may be or running their box manufacturing company or something.

If all the class warriors really want to get in high dander, go take on the hollyweird elites, or professional athletes or similar. People who do next to nothing saying someone elses words for a living or playing a childs game. Anyone bemoan Floyd Mayweather earning a 100 million for that last "fight"? Not really.

Why doesn't the left go after them? Cause guess who they, by and large, support and shill for?

Envy is a stinky cologne. Just cause someone else makes money, that has NO impact on what you can make.

What poor decisions have you made along the way that keeps you from doing so? Instead of punishing the achievers around here (My gosh, they used to be celebrated in the United States) a little self-introspection might be in order.

Losers. 07-coffee3

So your students are stupid. Have you tried to actually educate them as to how you achieved your status in life is because you worked to do so or have you done like you do on here and are perpetuating the myth? I mean you have claimed to be the spawn of illegal immigrants and here you are. Did you work to get to where you are or did the government hand you everything? How about your wife? Did the government hand her everything or did she work to get to where she is?
