Pull this one out and show it when people deny he is all about redistribution.
Never has there been a clearer statement of take from the ‘rich’, whatever can they do with all that money, and give to others, ‘to be fair’. The ‘rich’ are “society’s lottery winners” and not entitled to what they earned.
It’s never about bringing others up, but always about penalizing the successful to grab more for government.
I don't know of anyone who has said that Obama isn't about redistribution of wealth.
Every politician is for redistribution of wealth. Either from rich to poor or poor to rich.
Why would anyone act as if this is some sort of a surprise?
Wait, what? Please don't tell me you think that tax cuts are somehow taking from the poor and giving to the rich....
Well, how do Republicans usually pay for tax cuts when they decide to? By cutting social programs for the poor.
When's the last time a "social program" been cut? And name the program.
Food Stamps. WAAAAAY back in February of '15. 2015.
Quote:The five-year bill -- approved by Congress this week after years of fierce debate -- expands federal crop insurance. It also changes the food stamp program, cutting it by $800 million per year -- about 1% -- and raising the automatic eligibility requirement.

That's not taking anything from the poor. It's simply a reduction in what they were being given. What they earn is still as much to keep as it was before.

Don't you just love that government math?
Yeah those merciless 1% cuts in benefits. Assuming an average of $256 per month (government numbers), applying that 1% cut is a reduction of $2.56. That hardly seems catastrophic, especially given that I doubt the entire $800 million will come directly from benefits paid.

But yeah...contrary to the lies your media tells you...to most receiving this assistance, $3 is a big deal.
Would love to see an in depth study on who is receiving food stamps, why they are not working, and what they are buying. My office is locating near a food lion that gets a good amount of customers that are low income people. i've seen quite a few people using a government assistance credit card to check out. I've also seen most of these people buying potato chips and sodas.
$3 a big deal? Put back the 12 pack of coca colas.
Now obviously, not everyone receiving assistance is doing this, and not everyone receiving assistance is abusing it, but instead of just throwing money at people with no jobs, let's work to come up with a system that can get them back to work.

This must certainly be a line straight from The Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged. And, I'm not suggesting that he has read either one, just that he fits the caricatures in those books so perfectly.
edit: changed it to "has read" to clarify my intended meaning.

Hard work doesn't make you rich. There are plenty of lazy people who get rich by shear luck and there are plenty of hard working people that never become rich.

Such is the way of the world.
That isn't something the political realm can solve.

Is that the one about the candles or something?
The guy makes a light in a cave or something and has to keep it hidden?
