I can see ECU coming in as all-sports IF they make a MAJOR commitment in basketball. Much like what Memphis is presently doing in football. Other than basketball (and that VERY important in this conference IMO) ECU has a pretty good sports program. The major issue with ECU as I see it is their small TV market. #14 would probably come in in 2015 with Navy.

Are SMU's, UCF's, or Houston's basketball program any better than ECU's? And ECU's football program dwarfs most of the schools joining and that's what we need right now.

SMU just hired Larry Brown so I think we'll see some improvement there.

UCF is already better than ECU in basketball and Houston's new coach has some nationally ranked talent coming in.

So yes, all three are better basketball programs than ECU. So are most high school programs.

ECU averages what SMU and Houston average in bb combined! ECU is building a 15 million dollar basketball practice facility, RIGHT NOW. And we are in recruit rich North Carolina and now dropping loads of money on basketball. ECu do a lot better the past years under Lebo than the 14 before. Don't think for second ECU can't greatly improbe basketball.

That would be ideal, but Navy brings more TV revenue. I have no issues with ECU if they become a member of the NBE they do bring a lot to the table. However, I will leave the decision up to our Commish. He knows what we need.

Finally got to listen to the entire interview. Good Lord, that host is an idiot. How can he do a sports show where Memphis to the Big East is a major big deal and still be so clueless about the Big East....kinda shocking. We have 4 all sports talk stations in Houston.....I kinda feel like we need to lend Memphis a solid host for that show.

Remember Navy was the brain child of the of John Marinatto not new Big East commissioner Mike Aresco.
