The AAC supports the waiver for the Big12 to have a CG w/ 10 teams and Aresco believes it will pass.

I'm sure he supports that because it'll save the AAC from losing 2 members.

Man, Aresco keeps fighting the good fight and trying hard. Not really getting anywhere, but he sure is a good ambassador.

RE: Mike Aresco on Sports56
Given the current state of realignment affairs, I believe he has us in a position as the most competitive and respected G5 conference. That is about all we can ask for at this time. So when the next shake up happens and it will, the AAC will simply reload with the best of the rest. The same thing the B12 will do when it gets picked apart.
Half our teams may be in the B12 by 2017.
The question we need to ask ourselves: Is a picked apart B12 a better option than staying put in the American and growing the brand? If The B12 loses certain teams their next TV deal will drop down closer to where the American should be eventually anyway so it may end up being a wash and arguably smarter to stay in the American.
Hell, we might be able to get WVU back in the fold. Personally I would love to see the American flourish and work out. My general sense is given the obvious instability of the B12, I say we all stay put :coffee3:in the American. If the SEC, ACC, B10, or PAC come calling then that makes 100% sense to leave.
Guess we shall see. So what does your crystal ball tell you?

If the Big 12 gets picked apart, there will be no Big 12. Baylor or ISU isn't going to save the conference. The leftovers who don't get into the P5/4 conferences will choose between the AAC or the MW.

I really don't get these comments. He is paid VERY well, what would you expect him to be doing?

He is paid well. So was Marinatto and he's doing far better than he did. Everything fell apart under Marinatto's watch. You have to be a long time BE fan to understand.
