Temple is beating the snot out of West Virginia and our opponent after Lipscomb dominated a fairly good Miami team this afternoon.
Figures that the AAC is showing a little life this year not only with UC and SMU but Temple, Houston, Memphis, and UCF all looking like good teams only to have UConn on pace to have a historic down year.
As I say that Temple is collapsing. Only up 60-57 now.
Temple holds on for the four point win.
Butler pulled out the win vs #8 Arizona. Will be ranked when Cincy gets them
Lots of losses in the 10 or so spots above us...could be back in Top 25 this week..thoughts?

It is important to be ranked for exposure and recruiting but we really need to start beating some teams, starting with ISU. We absolutely have to take advantage of our opportunities OOC this year to get a better seed come tourney time.

We are very, very young and don't have any depth. Missing Josh Brown (ACL surgery) and Trey Lowe (car accident, redshirting). Brown is supposed to be back soon. We have two true freshmen playing major minutes, and another true freshman has played in two games and will likely take on a larger role as the season goes on.

Senior Daniel Dingle is playing over 35 mpg after playing about 21 mpg last year.

True sophomore Shizz Alston is playing about 35 mpg after playing about 10.5 mpg last year.

Our only other senior besides Dingle really sucks, and we have two other scholarship players who don't look like they belong at this level. We're basically playing with about 7 scholarship players until Brown comes back.

agree here 100% but don't get your hopes up...Iowa State is TOUGH at Hilton Coliseum, or whatever they call it these days. It's always been a tough home court for opposing teams. Not saying we can't win...but we definitely won't be favored.

Especially tough place to win without Clark's rebounding if he's unable to play Thursday.
UConn freshman Alterique Gilbert will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum and miss the rest of the 2016-17 season, per release.

I think they already lost Terry Larrier the transfer last week to an acl. Sounds like a walk on season.
More trouble for UConn? Couldn't happen to a more deserving program. That's karma for being in bed with the AAC administration and cheating us out of a conference championship! 04-rock

I don't like UConn, but I also don't like to see players injured.

Nope, and I love our games with them.very exciting almost every time.
Tulane with a very bad loss to University of New Orleans tonight
Penn State beat Georgia Tech though.

We can use all the help we can get so PSU can keep right on winning.

Regarding UCONN, I take no pleasure in their injuries or season record. They are the flagship basketball program in the AAC and playing them always provided an RPI boost. This conference has zero ranked teams right now and that doesn't bode well for NCAA bids, seeding or Aresco's "P6" campaign.

The American is probably a three bid league this year. The middle of the league should be a lot better this season. Cincinnati, Temple, SMU, Memphis, and Houston are the NCAA contenders with UCF as the wildcard. UConn is a mess and will probably be playing spoiler in the conference season but will be dangerous in the conference tournament again. ECU looks improved but I think they will be buried midway through conference play. They go USF, at UCF, at Temple, Houston, Cincinnati, at UConn, Tulsa, at Memphis, and at SMU to start league play. They will be lucky to get 2 or 3 wins out the first half of league play.
Damn Steve Alford needs to make an out of bounds plays video like they did in the 80s.
