Bottom line is that proposed bill as written is insane. Took me 5 minutes of reading the requirements to realize when I turned 18 while I was away for college I would not have been able to meet the terms to prove my citizenship without having either my parents mail me my birth certificate or driving multiple hours there and back to get it.

If you wanted to have a requirement that to register you had to have a valid ID and provide your full SSN that makes perfect sense. Puts very little additional burden on anyone and you could literally just have all the data in a spreadsheet and macro's or an AI program could pick out all the inconsistencies quickly as hell.

This "solution" as proposed is just about making it dramatically harder to register to vote for many, not about the best and most efficient way to make sure non-citizens can't vote.
