Only if over 1/2 these guys pan out. There is a reason they are leaving their current schools. Only 3 - ETSU, FAU, Old Dominion are moving 'up' the food chain.
So you're saying it's typical for players from P5 schools to transfer to JUCOS? Doubtful.
No. I'm saying only 3 of the incoming transfers are moving up to what is considered a higher tier school. The rest are coming down from P5 probably because they weren't going to get to play.
Which unfortunately means statistically if they weren't seeing much PT at their previous school (even if it was a P5 school) they won't see much at Memphis according to several portal experts on a recent ESPN discussion on Sirius 84.
I’m curious. Do you ever have ANYTHING positive to say about ANY aspect of our program?

Not since I've been paying attention - last few years.
Hey -ATLANTA- don't you love it when another poster has the audacity to tell you how to be a fan ---and what you should think-----I guess he wants you to be a PRETENDER--O-FER too----just pretend that all is well-----project that positive image --put your head in the sand --just PRETEND

And the chronic complainers who NEVER can bring themselves to have a positive thought about anything join hands together and howl to the heavens and you continue to regurgitate the same old thing again and again and again and again.

I simply point out what portal analysis say & I'm being negative. Suppose you guys would rather live in Dreamland & not be disturbed.

There are hundreds if not thousands of posters and dozens could have written this post. It is unfair to ask you to guess; but if you had to guess, can you think of who might have written this?
Quote:Then you define a fan much different than I do.......constant criticism of the coach, the admin, the players, the recruits, the program - what exactly about that is being a fan? No problem with differing opinions, happens all the time but when it goes to such effort to be critical & denigrate, & then further to go to such effort to prove anything positive about the program as wrong, it is then way over the line ...for a fan.
For the second one, I'm cheating. I replaced Tubby with Silverfield, to give more of a current feel to it. So you will have to use your imagination. The person saying this thought that Tubby should have been given the full 5 years. He is extremely critical of fans who didn't think that Tubby should have been given 5 years.
Quote:A lot of fans aren't happy with the Silverfield hire and are expressing their opinions - ad nauseum, endlessly, with mindless repetition. And I might add, many of us who weren't real excited about the hire understand that now he is the coach of our team, so we express our desire for him to succeed because it means the team we support will be successful..........and yes, it is just that easy.
So again, sorry for putting you on the spot, because it could have been anyone really; but IF you had to guess, who do you think would say something like this.

According to 247 transfer portal site, since end of reg season we've lost 14 guys and picked up 10 guys. I believe we have a net-zero target policy for the portal, so expect to pick up a few more. The portal closes in a few days, until the summer (IIRC). I expect to see some more +/- in the next few days.
Right now, at skill positions:
RB is wait and see. We lose Asa, which I hate. But pick up a high potential guy from Miss Stake and a highly productive guy from Old Dominion.
Receiving is a definite negative so far. We've lost 5 WR's and a TE. Of the bunch, Prieskorn is really the only one I hate to see go. But gotta have some more bodies or some young blood to step-up. The pick-up from ODU (Watson) is a slot guy, I guess. He's listed as a WR, but has a lot of rushing yards. He's the only WR listed as a transfer-in so far. Need some depth.
OL is a definite plus. Added two P5 redshirt sophomores and no one has left yet - although I wouldn't be surprised to see that change. Hearing a 3rd P5 is coming in. --> The OL from Arky is a done deal.
D is a plus. I hate to lose Jackson, but that's really all we've lost. We've picked up a 13-game starter from Arkinsaw at Safety, and another 2-deep Safety from Ohio State. Also 2 experienced players (DE & LB) from G5 programs, and a high-potential CB from Florida State. And I'm hearing there's another P5 D player imminent. --> EDIT: The DL from Oklahoma is done - he was a 2-deep player last year..
And we've replaced a very good punter with an SEC starter.
If we can get some WR/TE playmakers, the portal will be a big success. Let's see how this session closes.

So many new faces. Hope he has a plan to reinforce the culture and bring everyone together.
Based on how unified the majority of the team remained through this challenging and frustrating season, I have full confidence that the coaching staff will pull the new guys together. 2023 could be special.
