So many new faces. Hope he has a plan to reinforce the culture and bring everyone together.
Based on how unified the majority of the team remained through this challenging and frustrating season, I have full confidence that the coaching staff will pull the new guys together. 2023 could be special.

I believe we have a net-zero target policy for the portal, so expect to pick up a few more. The portal closes in a few days, until the summer (IIRC). I expect to see some more +/- in the next few days.
Right now, at skill positions:
RB is wait and see. We lose Asa, which I hate. But pick up a high potential guy from Miss Stake and a highly productive guy from Old Dominion.
Receiving is a definite negative so far. We've lost 5 WR's and a TE. Of the bunch, Prieskorn is really the only one I hate to see go. But gotta have some more bodies or some young blood to step-up. The pick-up from ODU (Watson) is a slot guy, I guess. He's listed as a WR, but has a lot of rushing yards. He's the only WR listed as a transfer-in so far. Need some depth.
OL is a definite plus. Added two P5 redshirt sophomores and no one has left yet - although I wouldn't be surprised to see that change. Hearing a 3rd P5 is coming in. --> The OL from Arky is a done deal.
D is a plus. I hate to lose Jackson, but that's really all we've lost. We've picked up a 13-game starter from Arkinsaw at Safety, and another 2-deep Safety from Ohio State. Also 2 experienced players (DE & LB) from G5 programs, and a high-potential CB from Florida State. And I'm hearing there's another P5 D player imminent. --> EDIT: The DL from Oklahoma is done - he was a 2-deep player last year..
And we've replaced a very good punter with an SEC starter.
If we can get some WR/TE playmakers, the portal will be a big success. Let's see how this session closes.
Dove from Missouri is a nice WR pickup, but yes I think we need one or two more if possible.

Dove played at the same high school as Seth but not at the same time, but since Seth's Dad was the coach, Seth probably knows him pretty well. Could be a good pickup.
According to CRS, currently there have been 15 players per school (avg) transfer out this portal season. Also, avg of 4 coaches per school turnover.
We've had 14 and 3, by my count.

Just listened to a J&J podcast on Tigers transfer portal season. And I'm again reminding myself to never listen to them when they talk Tigers fb. They are clueless.
They think that the Tigers have literally zero NIL money for fb. So they think any incoming transfers we get are not getting any $$, therefore the players cannot be any good.

Did he get $100k from USA? J&J show claimed he was leaving because he was going to get $100k NIL.
Real close to home for him. About an hour.
I got no problem with him going south, and quite frankly think he will be easy to replace.
The issue is our local media putting out reports Memphis fb is broke and Ivory is getting $100k in NIL money at his new school. Of course, they said this before it became known he was stepping down to low-level FBS football.

imagine paying 100k for 450 yards and maybe 3 td lol
It's why we should never listen to J&J when it comes to Tigers fb. They just don't have solid sources.
Their show is joke and very hard to listen to.
BTW...I'd bet Ivory was getting very little, if any NIL $$$ while he was at Memphis. Anything he got from So. Ala. was probably a substantial increase. I am sure it was nowhere near what the bozo show said.

There ought to be a way to confirm NIL contracts & maybe more importantly, there should be some evidence of the work required or expected in return for the $$. The agreements are written contracts, there is defined consideration. I guess I don't understand but these NIL deals we hear about seen to be nothing more than pay for play - which is still contrary to NCAA rules. I suppose this deal at UF with the QB will result in litigation & we will get some real tangible insight.

Yeah his analytics are below average for a player expecting NIL $.
There's no way USA is paying him $100k.
Let me rephrase that for the sensitive types - there is no way a company is paying him $100k to rep, at So Alabama.
