I just read this and spit out my coffee.
Clarence, I already showed you Mensa's post I was responding to and why I did so in that manner, and you simply ignored it. Funny, you only corrected me.
You're so arrogant, and so eager to correct people and look smart, but you just make it worse.
If you think I've lived on earth in 9 decades so far, follow politics closely, and don't understand how gas prices work, then you're more hopeless than I thought. Yet you felt it necessary to explain to everybody how gas prices work, just to try to make me (not Mensa) look bad.
Btw, presidential policies can have some effect on prices, although obviously there are other market factors at work. Making us energy independent at the time had some effect, as do other policies and actions at times.
Governors can affect prices, too. Kemp in GA suspended all state gasoline taxes for a while, immediately dropping the price in GA by about 30 cents a gallon, IIRC. I live across the river from GA, and drove over there to fill up for a while, but usually their prices are higher than in Bama in this neck of the woods.
So yeah, if politicians had no effect on gas prices, then every state would have essentially the same price, depending on the timing of their supply chain.
Anyway, thanks for the laugh.
