If no one has said it since I did earlier, your Coach is freaking awesome! Dude comes out of his corner throwing hay makers followed up by a barrage of body blows.

Isaac and Percy are as well spoken as anyone thus far, pumped they are on our team.

HCCC looks as laid back as I can ever remember. Must be nice to go from worrying about getting fired for a single loss to a .500 season being viewed by most as a success.

haha, did you pick up on his hatred of NIL yet? He was fun to listen to at one of our fundraisers a few weeks back. He definitely doesn't hold much back.

That and the playing in front of 30k versus 10k.

His change of expression as soon as they brought up DTD to Texas killed me 03-lmfao

I've always absolutely loved Cig at the podium and no different today. I hope he can keep up tons of winning on Saturdays with the move, and hope he can start winning a lot more of the games we aren't expected to win now that there'll be a lot more of them.

It was quite humorous when HCCC had to tell Matt Stewart that Kobay White was no longer with the program. Stewart highlighted White as a WR Transfer from BC.

The interview after JMU's presser with App St's Shawn Clark was interesting also. He talked quite a bit about how stars and other team offers don't mean squat if you find the right guys for your team/system.

Sometimes our board focuses a bit on stars/offers because we don't have a lot of other info to look at. But when guys show up at camp, coaches have a pretty good idea of a player's potential.

It’s not just you guys. Most fan bases have a group that get hyper focused on stars. Why does so and so not have enough? Our coaches aren’t finding highly recruited guys. It’s maddening.

RE: Sun Belt Media Days
Stars don’t mean ****. They are “adjusted” by sites to fuel web traffic.

A single offer doesn’t mean ****. Often times it might be a PWO offer or a Plan B offer.

But a cluster of offers at a certain level can lead you to believe a guy is pretty talented or at a certain level.

A guy who has two P5 offers, four G5 offers and 15 FCS offers is not the same as a guy who has ten P5 offers, twelve G5 offers and 10 FCS offers.

Recruit A is probably an FCS player and a fringe G5 guy, whereas recruit B is probably a stud G5 guy and a solid P5 guy.

This of course does not factor in development and growth. Recruits are boom or bust all the time. But I’d take a recruiting class full of Recruit B guys and feel good my team is going to do really well.

I look at it as something that can only be positive and is never really a negative to be concerned about. If we get a commitment from a guy that had a bunch of strong G5 offers and some P5 offers, great. That's a good sign that lots of coaches see him as a quality recruit and also a good sign that he chose JMU over those options. But even if we're his only offer or only FBS offer, so what? Cig and previous coaches have found plenty of undervalued guys before and will need to continue to find those guys.

RE: Sun Belt Media Days
What would you rather have:
-A 10+ win team with 3 stars or less, or
-A sub .500 team full of 4-5 star players?

The answer is obvious.

Results are what matter.
A 4-5 star guy can get hurt, transfer to another school, have a toxic attitude, etc just as much as a 3 star and below.

However the only way you have a sub .500 team full of 4-5 stars is if you're in the SEC. Give me 50 4-5 star guys and I'll see you in the CFP.

ESPN’s College Football Live show also had a segment on JMU today. We are in the FBS finally and it feels so right. The JMU segment starts at the 55 minute mark near the end of the daily one hour show.

Not sure where to post this but it seems like the playoffs will expand at some point just a matter of who gets in and how many teams

Yep, we're moving at the right time to the right place.

If they go 16, I'm not sure they give every conference a slot (10+6), but something like 8+8 with the top 8 conference champs seems possible.

SBC seems well positioned to get a team in if they go to 16.

16 would be awesome...slight bummer that it makes KG look a little out of the loop yesterday (advocated hard for 12 team format)
